It is 1965 and the US ground war in Vietnam is in full swing. As a US Army commander, wage a counter-insurgency (COIN) war to secure the Ia Drang valley, on the border with Cambodia.

This is a great little game! One patch suggestion tho: On iOS, maybe, if possible, make the strategic map pinch and zoom? The unit icons are a bit small on my iPad mini.

The game has an easy and difficult mode. You can start on the easy mode then progress.

With the update there will be a custom game, where you can set all of the important variables, and could set everything to easy and have a very easy game to learn on.

First great game first time commentor here. Love all the new updates with game. One thing I would like to add. The Chinooks should be able to supply fuel or any other type supply to units including armor. If they had too they would bring the whole fuel truck/barge with them and drop it off. Saying that includes being in a air drop type square for the armor unit. Waiting to play with the updates.

Hello. I am just curious to know if there is a new expected release date for this patch. This thread started on March 23 said two to three weeks.

Thank you!

We are finalising the update and should be ready for submission in the next 10 days, so to be safe I would say first half of May 2015 :)

I like the ZOC shading idea, but only if its very subtle.

As for FOG, in a 'traditional' wargame, yes, I like FOG. I like wargames where recon is very important. However, with VN65, I think the whole game should be based on FOG, that's what the Vietnam war was, nothing but FOG, so I don't feel that a graphical representation of FOG is needed. It should simply be part of the game where you don't know exactly where the NVA/VC are, at least for very long, at any time during the game.

.....VN65 should be the FOGiest game ever made, if it is to capture the feel of the actual conflict.

I totally agree with your view on FOG, thats why I didn't put it in in the first place

You will be pleased to know that it is a very light shade in game and the ZOC on the intel map are clearly marked, giving the best of both worlds.
