Re: Sound Mod - Update 10/25/14
Hello, I have installed the mod but the old sounds still kick in. This is what I have done:
1- I made one copy of each of the original Sounds and Music folders, and renamed one of the copies to have them as backups.
2- I copied the new files on the folders that kept the Sound and Music original names, replacing the old ones and keeping those original files that weren´t replaced.
3- Run the game and play a new game (through steam).
I have also tried erasing all the original files and using only the new ones, but same happend. Is there anything that I am doing wrong? Thank you!
Regards,
Javier.

If you have the Slitherine/Matrix version and the Steam version, they are installed in different places. If you changed the files in the Slitherine version, this won't affect the Steam version.
Where this is stored probably depends on which version of Windows you are using.
Mine is in /ProgramFiles (x86)/Steam/SteamApps/Common/Pike & Shot
whereas my Slitherine version is in

Re: Sound Mod - Update 10/25/14
Is there another download link other than mediafire-maybe dropbox or something? I have tried downloading the sound mod several times over the months and always failed. Today, I tried again and ended up linked to an article concerning the top 25 MLB players with great mustaches. Something wrong with that site and my computer.

Folks, a BIG update is on its way - with much new stuff. Managed to include up to 4 alternate sounds for movement, many troop specific sounds etc.
Stay tuned!

Any reason why I could hear the ambient background but no sound effects? I loaded a saved battle if that makes a difference. I had this mod working great before I reinstalled the game, and I followed all the instructions.

Really fine work, Adebar. I just ran a test to see how everything would sound. The marching music, booming canons and choppy musket fire all sound excellent. I wasn't sure whether I'd like the background SFX but I actually love it, there's just the right amount of ambience without it getting repetitive or being annoying. All in all it's very immersive and adds a ton of atmosphere to the battlefield. Thanks very much!
