help needed

Post by qwerty »

Hi,
I’m having a problem with the game on my new computer (it worked well on my old computer). After installing the game I saw an introductory video, after that a window come up with an equestrian riding a horse inside of a roman fortress. I may see 3 round icons on the up-left side of the window (one with a wrench, one with a diskette ant the last with Caesar) and some warriors below. I’m supposed to do something but the mouse doesn’t work at all. The green arrows (mouse) appear only in the top-left corner of the window, but if I move it, disappear. The game is THE HISTORY CHANNEL Great Battles of Rome Italian version 120 (??), 2007 Slitherine Software UK Ltd. Published by Lago Srl. ©: 2007. Suggestions in readme.txt didn’t work.

thanks in advance

Hmm - that is certainly an odd issue. What video card do you have in your machine? Does it have the latest drivers that are available for it?

Can you try running in a window (add the line

FULLSCREEN 0

to the user.txt file which is found in the DATA directory of the location you installed the game to).

Please let us know whether that helps.

Cheers

Yes, I tried with FULLSCREEN 0, but it won't solve the problem. I checked for driver update as well.
More details regarding my computer (laptop):

Video Card:
Mobile (R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family
Driver: Intel Corporation; date: 11/06/2008; version: 6.14.10.4957

Is there any way you can take a screenshot and post it for us? It's very odd that the mouse vanishes if the rest of the screen is correctly rendered, as we don't use any hardware mouse tricks etc.

Cheers
