Will there the Battle of Rorke's Drift become true?

Post by whhzj »

The battle(defence) of Rorke's Drift,1879 Jan 22-23,150-200 British soldiers managed to hold against 3500-4000 Zulu warriors.this was one of most unbelievable great battle that happend in Anglo-Zulu war.just after a bloody defeat in Isandlwana, the British made a great revenge.

So this battle perfectly fit your designer's mind which"we only make hard and less Vs more battle" and keep doing on the ridiculously "balance" each battle.
Also the movie "Zulu" is a very good example.

As with Steve's suggestion for Blood River (660ish Boers against 10,000+ Zulus) I don't think the P&S engine could cope with such wildly unbalanced numbers. Even making the British all Elite and modded rifle-armed, and the Zulus 'untrained mob' - which doesn't do them justice - the latter would still win. It's best to stick to roughly equal battles involving several thousand men per side to fit both the look and scale of the game. I did look at Aztec and Inca battles vs Conquistadors, but there were rarely more than 500 Spanish, albeit supported by thousands of allied natives: a battle would consist of four units of Spanish with twenty-five units of allied natives vs fifty units of Incas - it just wouldn't work, visually, let alone as a balanced game.
