Why do I have to move an Eng. before clearing adjacent mine?

Frontline: The Longest day takes the action West, to the bloody beaches of Normandy.

Why do I have to move an engineer unit, that is already adjacent to the minefield it wants to clear to ANOTHER adjacent hex before it lets me clear the minefield. Seems pretty dumb  Invariably the unit winds up getting in the way of another unit I want to move, or worse, blunders into the minefield and forces a reload of the turn.

that's a good question, but an answer is a harder one, unless the developer wishes to comment :?:

as i have no idea why, but do agree it's not needed, the move part that is, if a mind is in range, you should be able to clear it, without moving, maybe in the latest patch, but until it's released,i have no idea, only guessing

Ummmmm, I do think I have the latest patch, I updated to version 1.01 on Jan 27th. This is a really dumb design decision.
