BA2 suddenly stopped working

I have been playing BA2 for the last few days without problem. Today i played for 2-3 hours then stopped for a while to reinstall Panzer Corps.
When I tried to start BA 2 later it opens but then hangs on the main screen. I can open task manager but my mouse only seems to appear on the lower taskbar, I can close the loader screen but not the main program.
The only way around it seems to be to restart Windows.

I am using build 1.04 with all expansions loaded.

Panzer Corps is one of those game that won't install any system prerequisite, like DirectX, .Net, etc. So the problem is not related with Panzer Corps installation itself.
Rename the the folder named BA2 as _BA2 in the Windows documents folder:
...\Documents\My Games\
Run the game and check if th issue persists..

I decided to reinstall the game and updates completely, seems to be working again now. If it happens again I will try your suggestion.
