Report from South-West

Aryaman won (27%) vs (37%) RBS (+10)

A very tactical battle, I was waiting for my flanking force to arrive while Richard was redeploying to meet my attack, so for some turns we were shifting forces from side to side until my force arrived, then we commited our forces cautiously, trying to outflank each other. In the end it was a victory for the King, but a very close one, thank you Richard for a very interesting game!

The North-West reports a victory for the King's forces.

Ironclad 8% v Cromwell 41% for 33% difference.

The Royalists looked to have limited options for offensive action on a battlefield with woods backed up by hills protecting the enemy right and patches of rough ground across the rest of the front but using this terrain to weaken or withdraw its flanking forces it was able to concentrate for a breakthrough on its centre left. Blessed by good fortune, and some enemy infantry caught in the rough, it was able to broaden this success despite Parliamentary flanking achievements. Thanks to Cromwell for the game.

A victory for the King in the South. Royalist 19% New Model Army 46%.
The game started with much Royalist swearing when it turned out that a bit over 20% of my army was carousing and wenching and might join later. 6 units were flank marching on my left flank.
I headed for the left and set up defensively on a hill there while iandavidsmith moved to hit me from 3 sides. Fortunately 5 of the flank marching units turned up far earlier than i expected and trapped my opponent between them and the troops on the hill.
Thanks for an enjoyable game.

Reports have come in of a Royalist victory in central east England. Doyley 46 iandavidsmith 62. A very hard fought battle, the outcome of which was very much in doubt until the very end. Thanks very much for a nail biting game iandavidsmith!

In Central-West the combination of a +100 advantage and the frankly awesome '45-'48 Royalist army meant that us poor Parliamentarians were overwhelmed 44-16. Congrats cavehobbit!

Each side passed through their opponents and fought the "survivors" in reverse positions.
