Can't direct connect

Post by thegreattree »

Trying to play CC-GTC with a friend. We would prefer to direct connect instead of going through the lobby (we've run into intermittent stability issues, particularly at end of battle). Both of us have port 1944 open on our routers and firewalls, but regardless of who hosts, we always got a lobby connection instead of a direct connection when playing. Any idea how to force a direct connection?

as i don't know your hardware, it's hard on what to advise,

running as admin, checking firewall for permissions and looking at logs for errors is all i can suggest,

both need to be on the same patch level, and have different keys, eg 2 keys, once each
You can enable a direct connection if the hosting player opens port 1944 through their firewall/router. This will occur automatically if the games can connect directly. Otherwise they will connect through the Slitherine lobby. There is no option to bypass the lobby, if that is what you're looking for.

If you have a router, also check that the router is forwarding port 1944 to the machine you are playing CC on.
