Re: Next DLC?
I guess logically the console version should come out first then the new DLC in a second time. For marketing reasons, those who will buy the console version will proceed to checkout a second time to buy the new DLC.
Of course the Beta of the new DLC should start a few months before its release.

Re: Next DLC?
I remember that the console port team and the original devs were two separate teams. And the console market is also separate from the PC market. So timing releases here does not make much sense to me, at least with the few tidbits that I know. My guess with the delay has more to do with the growing complexity of OoB with each DLC, making the whole game more difficult to manage. But those are just vague notions, nothing official.

If the next DLC will be released before the console version, so this next DLC should be included in the console version (containing the base game plus all contents from the U.S. Pacific DLC) ?AlbertoC wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2019 2:47 pm ...
Order of Battle: World War II will be released on console as a premium game, containing the base game plus all contents from the U.S. Pacific DLC. All other DLCs will be released at the same time as the base game, for a truly staggering amount of content!
...
We’ll see who’s right...

Re: Next DLC?
Something intrigues me in your words. If the console port team is a new team different from the original devs team so the console port team has to start from scratch knowing nothing about the original code ?
Re: Next DLC?
The beta will be announced this week. We're currently processing the first build. The sign-up will be published later this week.
Thanks for the patience!

Re: Next DLC?
I doubt that they start from scratch and that there is no communication between the teams.terminator wrote: ↑Mon Jun 24, 2019 9:26 am

What surprises me more is that there is a console market for wargames. But I guess I add that fact to the many, many things I havent known yet.
Anyways, beta is coming.
Re: Next DLC?
I've noticed a couple of Slitherine games starting with an iPad version, then the PC and finally the PS4 version.
So there is obviously a small (at least) market for wargames on those non-PC/Mac platforms.

Re: Next DLC?
IIRC ES was released more towards the end of the year. Though that doesn't mean it has to be the same for each DLC
Re: Next DLC?
god, the facebook page's saying about "an unexplored point of view to WW2 in the Order of Battle saga". So first, its still in WW2 timeline (meet you next time, vietnam war). And second, i expected "unexplored" things may be story of the country outside 5 giants (USA,Brit,Ger,USSR,Jap). Free France or China ?
Re: Next DLC?
Unexplored means not yet covered in OOB (from the player side).
Re: Next DLC?
Winter War DLC was once released on 7.7.2016. This is unfortunately Sunday this year. Let's see...
Slitherine only releases games and expansions at Tuesdays and Thursdays, if the policy hasn't changed yet.
Today, 225 days have passed since the release of Endsieg on 13.11.2018. That's clearly a record compared to Endsieg with 181 days since Sandstorm on 16.5.2018.

Guys, it doesn't take rocket science. In 7.1.8 there are four new Soviet specialisations and 17 new Soviet units.

Re: Next DLC?
There are also three new Soviet land commanders and an NKVD guy (all with the Commissar's face, for now) which I just discovered while going over something being designed by Erik. These commanders were sorely needed, I'd say.

Re: Next DLC?
kondi's "Deep Operations" idea is a good one and would accurately represent the role and function of mid-to-late war Red Army tank corps and tank armies. A similar concept would have likewise represented the German panzer divisions in the Blitzkrieg's heyday. These formations outran their supply lines by design. OoB's representation of tanks has always been a little hamstrung in this regard by it's Pacific War origins, where both the Allies and Japanese dispersed most of their tanks to serve in an infantry support role.
I don't think the "unreliable" is too extreme based on most accounts of the affected vehicles in combat. The Wehrmacht may have been much better off producing more improved Panzer Mk IVs than investing in the Tigers and Panthers. You can read plenty of exciting accounts of how one or three Tigers held against a much larger force of T-34s or Shermans but they usually end with "circumstances forced us to withdraw" and "several vehicles had to be abandoned."
Maybe there ought to be some sort of event trigger in the 1941 scenarios where the Red Army's mechanized forces suffer penalties to their effectiveness. They had plenty of tanks of their disposal but the Red Army's command and control was so weak even before Barbarossa that it usually amounted to small groups of tanks in varying degrees of disrepair engaging the panzerwaffe with next to no idea what was going on beyond their line of sight.
