Kriegsmarine Operation Torch, No Carrier Now
So it appears that I can no longer take the Flugzeugtrager specialization to get the Graf Zepplin for this mission. When did this change, and why?

...and now having played the scenario a few times; How the HELL do you get the bonus objective on this one? Even rushing my condors over and using that one sub, I can't take out the units, or destroy enough of the supply ships, before they take the French objectives.

AFAIK you can't complete the sec. obj. with just the Condor tact. bombers.

The reason: the dates between missions doesn't increment right. It's still the date of the last mission (8/1941, "Western Approaches") instead of the new one (11/1942, "Op. Torch")!
My guess: this may have something to do with the new campaign editor (?).
And this behaviour doesn't apply to Kriegsmarine only, but to all DLC campaigns It's just not that noticeable there, so no one seems to have noticed until now.
Probably because AFAIK this Kriegsmarine mission's the only one where a specific specialisation's required to be able to achieve a secondary objective.
If you want a fast "fix", you can modify the availibility date of the "Flugzeugträger" spec. inside the "specialisations.csv" in the \Data folder, e.g. like this:

The "torpedo improvement" should be available, too, BTW.

Ugh. Been trying to finish this campaign for ages. Was hung up on the "All units revert to 6 strength" bug before this.
I don't want to mod my game, as I'm pretty crap at that stuff.

Anyways, even with the now available Junkers tact. bombers, achieving this sec. objective's quite tricky...

IMO the "reward" for getting the secondary is really bad. Better to just kill the enemy ships. All of them ("Doing it Gabe's Way" ).

Yeah, it's always better to kill 'em first and ask the questions later. Actually there's no real "reward" (like AI changes or new units not spawning) for completing the "protect the French" objective at all. I suppose some of the DDs attacking the coast may arrive a few turns later to attack my fleet, but that's it. It's really NOT worth sending two excellent tact. bombers away from my fleet to destroy some supply ships.
But...and you may call this a character flaw...I like all my objectives checked green, no matter the reward/cost...

In his previous post Mr. Gabe recollects this specialization was available (needed to accomplish a secondary objective) for this Kriegsmarine misson. My habit was to allocate newly earned specialization points before I start the next scenario- happily taking whatever the user interface allowed. Comparing the data in specializations.csv to what the UI shows now, I've learned to become unhappy- many entries are skewed.
So do we think this is working as designed

When a player enters the Specialization screen, the game calendar reflects the date of the previous mission, not the next mission. Some items can no longer be selected- even though their availability date in the specializations.csv file makes them available for the "next" mission.
Kriegsmarine players pursuing the Plan Z specialization noticed that the Axis aircraft carrier is no longer available in time for Scenario 6 "Moroccan Coast 11/1942 Operation Torch". A work around to restore the previous game behavior is edit specializations.csv to change the availability of "Flugzeugtrager" to 8/1941 (the date of the previous mission). Note 9/1941 won't work.
This calendar behavior likely changed as a by-product of the recent OOB revision / engine changes. It impacts all campaigns, but the severity is scenario and specialization specific.
Shards posted this issue will be looked into for the next patch.

The bug is only for a secondary objective : "The date at the campaign screen is incorrect, which makes it so that you can't choose the aircraft carrier specialization.
This makes accomplishing the bonus objective with your French units virtually impossible."

Thanks a lot for reply! With more than 800 hours of gameplay my idea about OoB is quite clear But I hope anyway they're going to fix that asap as it should be.
