mandatory advance after combat
Is there some way to prevent a friendly unit that has driven back an enemy in combat from advancing into the vacated hex? Often i do not want the unit to advance but cannot locate a way to prevent this from happening,
Re: mandatory advance after combat
The advance is not mandatory. After the enemy unit retreats, you are given the option to move to the newly vacant hex, but you don't have to. Just leave you unit there by deselecting it. You can achieve this by selected a different unit for example.

thanks but I never see that option the unit moves automatically into the vacated hex. I wonder if there if some option that one can turn off or on?

Hi hms, are you double clicking to attack?
It's only a single click to attack. You second click would issue the advance order.
Just a guess, but hopefully that's it.

I single click to attack, then right click if I decide not to advance. definitely not mandatory in mp.
