Is there an option to have the map center on units being attacked by AI? Most of the time I miss the action. I hear all these battles but usually can't see or find which of my units are being attacked. The map doesn't move or center on the current battle. If there is an option to have the view center on the current battle, I can't find it.
On these busy maps some battles turn in to nothing but a jumble of sound effects that puzzle me as to what is going on and where.

AFAIK there isn't such an option.
The map does change - but not center, to the location where the action is happening.
What I do however, is to zoom in to max level and then it gets a bit easier to see what is happening.

It's not that we don't wanna help hahaha it's just because we don't have the answer hahaha so far my experience is you can't
Re: Option to have the map center on units being attacked?
It would be a nice option to both manually center the map on the selected unit and checkmark that the game would do the same during the AI turn.
Re: Option to have the map center on units being attacked?
I'm a bit surprised - for me the camera *does move to the unit being attacked by the AI. It's not exactly centered, but I can watch combat just fine. Is that not happening for y'all or did I misunderstand the op?
The only reason that could work against that is a very high speed setting for those combat anims (in options) - then combat is too fast and the cam will jump too fast as well so you don't see much.

I have not experienced this. I see the combat.

The camera centres on the attacking unit. So if it is a ranged attack such as artillery, the artillery that is firing will be in the centre.

Re: Option to have the map center on units being attacked?
Thanks guys. Your suggestions really helped. Also the map does center of the AI units that are active ar any particular moment. I guess I was just playing on a map where I didn't notice because that centering was not necessary.
Also these settings helped:
OPTIONS:
1. Preferences -> AI Animation Speed (Lowest speed.)
2. Preferences -> AI Unit Scaling: “Large”
3. Performance -> Pause AI Calculations -> Pause during gameplay animation.
4. Performance -> Unit Accenting Glow: unit’s player color
