Progress Check?

How's the development going guys?

There's definitely a spot in the market for grand strategy on the mobile platform ...

"Strategy and Tactics WW II" just does not cut it ... so I'm up for a Grisby game in this space !

Nothing to report at the moment I am afraid. You can be sure we'll let people know when we have something new to see.

Cheers

Pip

Thanks Pip - hope those guys get done quickly with minor work like WITE and WITW and move onto this important initiative. ;)

I'm hoping this won't be vaporware, because as Don says, there's virtually no WW2 grand strategy games on iPad. This would definitely fill a void with no competition. Will keep watching and hoping.

Makes me wonder if completion would require significant work by the core 2 x 3 guys - or do they have a "porting team" trying to lead this effort ....

I saw in another forum that the core guys are focused on Steel Tigers for PC.

This project was far more complex than the team initially realised. They were able to get it to run on iOS but the UI was just so much work that it would take years to complete with the small team. Taking in to account how quickly Apple change the goal posts and what this would cost, its been decided to stop work on the project. It is a real shame as a game like this on iOS would have been great but the decline in premium games on iOS, old code base, dated UI design, and work to update those just make it prohibitively expensive and the team would never get their money back. Sorry we don't have better news for those if you waiting for this game.

Thanks for keeping us informed Iain.

Question: Are you still open to publishing some other Grand Strategy titles on IOS? As mentioned before, there is a huge market gap there that no one else but that silly Strategy and Tactics game has sought to fill.

From your comments on the "decline in premium games on IOS", I infer that you will still make IOS strategy titles but are being very selective with your efforts based on the company's confidence that the subject matter will generate good sales and does not require a disproportionate amount of effort. (apparently Heroes of Normandy fits that criteria)

Are you keeping options open for possible implementations for such games as CEAW series etc - which previously had some porting activity on other devices?

Yes, thank you for letting us know, Iain. Bummer.

Don, those are great questions, and I'm wondering the same thing.

More Grand Strategy games for iPad would be most welcome!

Thanks for the input Darrell.

Other iPAD users - if you're interested in seeing a Slitherine / Matrix Grand Strategy title on IOS - toss in your support here.

I'm sure Iain and the rest of our Publishing friends would be delighted to hear about the interests of loyal customers. ;)

We're certainly open to the idea of other grand strategy games but it needs to be something more suited to iOS and developed with it in mind.

Got it - thanks for the confirmation.

I hope you guys take advantage of this gap in the market.

I think you did a good job on the iPAD version of CTGW - so it proves that both the platform and your developers / staff are capable of implementing good Grand Strategy games on IOS.

I'm always looking for some decent strategy games on the iPad. Preferably something that has a proven track record on the PC.
Nice way to kill some time while commuting.
