Kursk Campaign Worth 9.99 ?
Hi All,
I'm considering purchasing this on IOS before BA2 disappears for ever.
Did you enjoy this campaign ?
I usually avoid Kursk due to the nature of the battle - but I was able to enjoy games like JTS Kursk Southern Front since there was more to the game than Panzers plunging into rings of mines and AT guns.
(some meeting engagements etc in that game)
Was this campaign enjoyable for you?

i've not got it as yet, only just got the first one and liked that, so can't really comment on the 2nd one, hope someone else can and does mind you
Re: Kursk Campaign Worth 9.99 ?
Thanks Zak - I like both BA 1 and 2 a lot.
I'm still working my way through the Barbarossa campaign and can strongly recommend that.
The question will be - is Kursk fun?
The Barbarossa campaign so far is quite varied and presents new challenges on a regular basis forcing you to employ creative tactics ....
Hopefully Kursk would be the same but it would be great to hear an opinion from those that have played it ...

IIRC Kursk is a carryover campaign from both sides, which is a difference.
Beyond that other players will need to feed back their experiences with it.

By carry-over you mean that you have to complete one of the core campaigns to proceed onto Kursk?

no for me, (might be wrong mind you) carry over means as you progress through Kursk campaigns you keep what units you have and they progress, if you keep them alive and maybe get better, i think that's the meaning of it, as that's what i'd want it to mean and do, then again maybe wrong as it's only a guess on my part

Correct - each Kursk campaign is independent, but you carry some units over from mission to mission inside each campaign.

Ah - that's a good selling point - thanks for the info.
Would still like to hear from someone that's played on the "fun factor".
Does it elude the Kursk Curse of endless slogging?

i'm playing Kursk on a different game battlefield on the pc and tbh, it was an endless slog tbh, it's how the battle unfolds, for many reasons, one the Russians knew the plan in advance and prepared and reacted for it, and 2, the nature of the terrain and both leaders didn't help
Re: Kursk Campaign Worth 9.99 ?
Right - going in to a Kursk battle, you know there's got to be a certain level of slog - because ... well ... historically, it was
Some rare games are done well enough and include enough of the fluid actions that did occur in the battle, to be fun.
I was actually surprised this battle was chosen for the BA2 expansion rather than something like Operation Konrad ....
Anyways .... back to fishing for someone who actually played it ...

Hello Don, I have played the Kursk campaign .. from the German and Russian side. This campaign is worth the 9.99 price.. BA1 and BA2 expansion are well worth the asking price.. You can also copy +paste "user made campaigns" from this forum as well. Happy hunting! Jerome.
Re: Kursk Campaign Worth 9.99 ?
Excellent - thanks Jerome - I think I'll take the plunge.
After that, I think I'll dive into those awesome looking Stalingrad scenarios from Amaris.
Long live the BA series !
