game Whites out/cursor has jitters and long tail

Post by randynovotny »

Just purchased and downloaded software. When I try to start game it runs fine until I get to the opening screen, screen starts to white out. It looks as if you had dropped
white ink which flows across screen. Also the cursor is jittery and drags a long trail.

I have attached my DXDIAG file.

I'm not sure how to do that. Device manager only shows Nvidia card. I thought adding a dedicated video card
dk\disabled the on board.

The fact that the device manager only shows Nvidia card, it only means that you've the drivers installed for Nvidia. It's always best to be sure that the onboard VGA is completely disabled in the BIOS/CMOS settings.
Usually you'll find this option in the BIOS>> Advanced Chipset settings>> Onboard Vga. But this may vary from model to model. I don't have the manual of that BIOS , so I'm afraid I can't be specific.
Before we proceed we should discard the chance of having an enabled onboard VGA.

Finally found how to get into setup. The only video option is to enable/disable multiple monitor support. :)

We could try to run in windowed mode and check if the issue persist.
To do that please open the folder where the game is installed. Create a subfolder named "save". Now open this folder and create another folder named "0". Please note that it's a zero and not the letter O. Download the file attached to this post and unzip it. Please copy the extracted file, " 00000000.sav", to the folder named "0" that you've created previously. Try to run the game and check if there's any difference.

Tried to do as you suggested but the program folder already had a save folder which contains 00000000.sav and 00100000.sav. :?

Can you please attach a screenshot with the issue?

Please download this DirectX:

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download ... px?id=8109

Run the downloaded file and extract the file to a place of your choice. Open that folder and locate a file named "DXSETUP.exe" and run it to install DirectX.
After having installed DirecttX please run the game again.

Did as instructed. Same problem remain. How do I take a screen shot and attach it?

For screenshots I use a very useful and free program to take partial or full screen shot:
http://getgreenshot.org/

After have take the screenshot, I host the image in http://imgur.com/, and past the link to the post directly.
With imgur, you only need to past the link below "BBCode (message boards & forums)" to your post:
An example:

Did as advised and took screendump but screen was solid black. Tried using on board video
and game worked fine. It appears the game doesn't like my NVidia card.

Or most probably some settings in your Nvidia Control Panel.
Could you please take a screenshot at the settings of your Nvidia Control Panel?

Thanks for your help. Checked Nvidia control panel and I had it set for balanced, changed to
let 3d app decide setup and it now works fine. :D
