Austria in Italy 1809 list

Post by Scrumpy »

The 4th bullet point in notes states 'jager may not be used in skirmish formation.'

The list makes no mention of Jager other than as skirmisher attachments. I have checked the errata & found nothing to clarify this, what am I missing ?

I doubt you are missing anything much. It looks to me that its a standard restriction for the Austrian lists that has been carried accross to a list that, quite rightly, has no Jaeger units (there was only one Jaeger battalion in the Austrian army of Italy in 1809 compared to 16 Grenzer battalions). It can have no meaning with regard to the attachments since any unit capable of having an attachment is not capable of operating in skirmish order.

Just there to confuse you - We'll delete it (and the entry on page 11) when we published a revised errata
