The Worlds 2014 - let's get started

Post by Martin0112 »

We can announce "The Worlds 2014" to be held in Germany.
Our goal is to have players from all over the world meeting there for a weekend of historical wargaming in multiple different systems as well as having lots of fun outside the games.

We have now the place as well as the date fixed.

The Worlds 2014 will start on Friday, August 15th and end on Sunday, August 17, 2014
The place is the Rhein-Mosel-Halle in Koblenz.

We have already several tournaments planned as follows:
  • DBMM (15mm)
  • DBM (15mm)
  • DBR (15mm)
  • FOG:AM (15mm)
  • FOG:N (15mm)
  • FOG:R (15mm)
  • Lasalle (28mm)
  • WAB (28mm)
We are still checking if we can also offer the following systems:
  • DBA (15mm or 28mm)
  • Impetus (28mm)
  • SAGA (28 mm)
  • WRG 6th (15mm)
We also will have several vendors and demogames there.

All the details can be seen on our brand-new webpage http://www.komicon.de/the-worlds-2014/
We have also reserved about 150 hotel rooms for you to book directly on this page.

I'm hoping for lots of players to join us there.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me.

Best regards

Martin

well I could be in for that, I was going to the States this year for the Gettysburg 150th but things conspired against me, so just talked the my wife and it is a goal we are looking to achieve. Gives me plenty of time to get some experience at FOG(N) since I haven't played a game yet lol. My army of Saxons is coming together though. Almost finished my first 4 regiments.

Update from 'The Worlds 2014':
Payment is now opened, please use the official webpage to find the correct PayPal-link for your tournament.

Additional information: We will offer a 2-hour sightseeing tour in Koblenz for Saturday evening. It will cost only 5 € and can be booked together with the tournament.
So for each tournament there are 2 links, one for payment with the sightseeing tour, the second one for the tournament only.

We have more than 60 players who have already registered for the different tournaments, but there is still plenty of space.

So, please, continue registering for the tournament, the more players have registered, the more vendors will like to come to the event!
and until April, 30th from the reduced entry price.

Hi
Know it's way past post time but I am curious to learn how this went? Which also leads me to my next question: is it too early to have a global event of this kind? FoGN might be global but its market is small as far as running event. Unless there is a strong local community to support it, FoGN is merely competing against more established and better player involvement events. Am I seeing this right?
