Whoever draws Mr. M will spend the first 15 scrabbling round the army lists trying to workout what the f... exactly IS in an Etruscan League list...

Re: SCOTTISH OPEN, 28-29 November, Perth. Scotland
Yes - I thin its a first Tim. John is often ahead of the curve - much as it pains me to say it - in army selection. In AM it was the Early Dedieval Irish whilst in R it was the West Sudanese. AFAIK the only fly in the Munro ointment (you DO NOT want to go there!) is that he's never ever used it before. I think I might be on the other side of the table from it tonight but naturally there will be a purda on list till the basho. Even I have some standards.timmy1 wrote:Whoever draws Mr. M will spend the first 15 scrabbling round the army lists trying to workout what the f... exactly IS in an Etruscan League list...
For ardent basho goers I can exclusively reveal that my accomplice Spotted Dog has disappeared into his kennel clutching all the army lists in order to run the now (in)famous and uncannily accurate PreDictOMeter algorithms to come up with this years podium predictions. More on that soon no doubt.
**********BREAKING NEWS********* Dean of the Elgin Law Fraternity Mike (The Bosphoran) Kemp has thrown his hat into the ring. He has also signed up for the basho. Magnifique!

Hi George, me, Mal, Paul and John E will be up on Friday. We will probably head for Wetherspoons at about 8, maybe before if the journey goes well. See you there if you fancy it...
Graeme.

Trophies and prizes have arrived fellahs.
Muster on Saturday is 0830 for hot breakfasts "care of" Chef Eric although if ever there was a misnomer that must be it! Usual place - Luncarty Juniors Football Club, guess where? that's right - Luncarty.
My mobile number is 07920547530 if you need to get in touch.

Mr Cameron (Hugh that is - not David) has nailed his colours to the mast in his stirring rendition of the ballad of luncartee. He reckons he's well placed to scoop the silverware by all accounts. Who will stop him? Well the PreDictOMeter has David Cutner as firm favourate with PJ and John Munro in close pursuit. Wild card George Dick could prise this lot apart though depending on match ups. Humble Hunter is only playing for laughs as usual!

Re: SCOTTISH OPEN, 28-29 November, Perth. Scotland
The Ballad of Luncartee
Afore the Scottish Open, the bard speaks again,
Of many an army and michty men,
All seek the crown but just one will reign,
Listen now, and hear my story.
First comes Hunter, the Scot Continental
To pick this sad lot, he must have gone mental,
He never should have been so experimental,
Alas his chance is now gone.
Next comes Graeme on his wee spanish donkey,
He has visions of glory, like old Don Quixote,
His chances of winning are now looking toatie,
Like his army, they Are a gone.
With an oriental horde comes Alan the Fickle,
They don’t pack a punch, its more of a tickle
His army is muckle, but his chances are mickle,
His great days are no more.
Young David is fiercesome, just like his Daddy,
With precocious talent for such a young laddie,
His goose will be cooked just like a fine Haddire,
Afore the battles are o’er.
Paul has left Alba and gone to the Irish,
In emerald green they look very stylish,
But a horde of leprechauns would never be my wish,
He should have stuck with the Scots.
Down from old Pictland comes Mike the BoSporran,
A true Son of Mars, aye fightin' and warrin',
But he'll be back in Elgin all tattered and torn,
Cursin' Luncartee.
Rail Card Robbie is Classical Greek,
He asks for a lift, is that not a cheek,
If he has to walk, it’ll take him a week,
Bus Fare Home for Robbie
The Munro has an army great in its numbers,
On to Lun-carty it steadily lumbers,
Many an army he surely will ‘sunder,
But the prize he will not take home.
Bold Malcolm picked Persians to give him a war edge,
But is the man eating the right kind of forage,
He’d better eat up all of his porridge,
Or he’ll have nae chance at a’.
Mark’s army we know is very efficient,
The Swiss often win in a war of attrition,
But will they win or fail in their mission,
Only time will Tell.
John Edward is using a company of Routiers,
It’s all he could get from his recruitiers.
They have a bad reputation for being lootiers,
What bad Company they must be.
George’s new army is called Lithuanian,
A rhyme for that lot fair taxes my cranium,
He reckons its hot like a chunk of Uranium,
But I think this army will bomb.
Jimmy Copeland’s new army is now Early Scot.
He used to use Picts but now he does not,
It’s not so manoevrable, so he well might get caught,
With fleeter foes on his flanks.
The Normans of Italy follow Sir Gary,
All down the peninsula they burn and they harry,
But off with the trophy, he will not carry,
He’ll end up with the boot.
Forget not Chef, Eric of guid auld Perth town,
He perfected his recipes while at Porton Down
His Heart Attack Bap has gained great renown,
And nourished many a soldier.
There will be just one winner, I now will predict,
My choice of the victor you can’t contradict,
That handsome young Hero is Shuggie, the Pict,
And now my rhyming is o’er
By Hugh the Bard.

What does it say for the rest of us if David is the favourite? He hasn't played a single fame of FoG since Britcon 2014. And nothing before that since Britcon 2013.
