Say the Axis attack Greece. Britain sends an air unit to Crete. What happens to the British air unit when Athens gets captured?

Does the air unit control the hex it is on, while the rest of Crete becomes Axis?

If I recall correctly the unit is not eliminated, it controls the hex it occupies. The immediate problem for the unit is supply. Often trapped units not in cities or ports are out of supply. I have previously turned Crete into a UK aircraft carrier after Axis conquers Greece, but you can’t just have the air unit out on the tip of the island. I believe you have to control the port, and then have a unit walk it’s way to the air unit to open up the supply line. Certainly for ground units you do.
