Thanks for your comments!Blathergut wrote:The new format looks good.
1. The bottom of each has the tags saying "Buy CEaW and download GS 2.0." Should it be 2.10?
2. Had you not planned to include your actual moves for your invasion of Norway?
First, GS 2.1 has not been released yet. The link at the bottom is to buy the basic CEaW and also download 2.0. When GS 2.1 is released -- I will edit the brochures with new Slitherine link.
Second, I did not put all the details of the Denmark/Norway Blitz in a Brochure -- seemed like overkill. But now that I think of it - maybe that brochure should have a URL link to the detail on the Forum. Also - the Brochure is not meant to replace the Forum - way too much good info there!!!

Truthfully, the hold up is not Slitherine; but the testers who are working through a critical game balance tweak in the East.gsmart04 wrote:Great job! You guys have really succeeded in whetting my appetite. Is there anything we users can do to get Slitherine to move the installer process along so we can get our hands on GS 2.1?

Thanks, Ronnie. Re: GSv2.10 Brochures
The weather .pdf is a bit confusingly worded. Re page 3 with the big sidebar, there is a lot of mixing of terms "eastern weather", "northern weather" each of which should be clearly defined.
Also, in the beginning of the sidebar it states that "severe winter" only occurs north of Crimea, but then later is also talks about "bumped the efficiency loss percentage in Russian southern hexes from 50 to 75"? And in addition, does this mean loss of 25% or loss of 75%?
Another paragraph in sidebar says SW lasts 5-7 turns. Which directly contradicts the big graphic on page 5 which says SW can last 3-6 turns?

Re: GSv2.10 Brochures
The GS 2.0 Manual reads as follows:
"Russia will immediately join the Allies if an Axis unit is adjacent to a
Persian city or resource. This simulates better that Persia is annexed by
USSR so an Axis entry into Persia will be seen as an aggression against
USSR. I coded it that you have to be adjacent to a Persian city or
resource to prevent Axis movement inside Iraq to accidentally convert hexes
in Persia to Axis control. If an Axis unit moves to a city or resource then
it's a deliberate move into Persia and USSR will join the Allies"
But the brochure included above says that the DoW happens if Axis unit touches an "Iraqui" city/resource. That's a mistake, isn't it? (Or have we changed this rule without me noticing?)

When is 2.1 due to be released - roughly?
Re: GSv2.10 Brochures
The brochures are getting a 404 error on gs-manual.org
Can someone put them up for DL?
Thanks

Re: GSv2.10 Brochures
Hi Alec :
Is there a new manual coming with the GS 3.0 ? or just a small patch ? I suggest the second one . Since the manual is already 600-700 pages , if it increase to around 900-1000 pages , It will be difficult for a newcomer to learn this wonderful game .

Re: GSv2.10 Brochures
In an ideal world we need a, much shorter, manual which just describes the rules for 3.0. New players need to learn 1.0 - which doesn't really exist any more - then read the manual with this imaginary starting point in mind. Then discover the hard way all of the parts of the manual which aren't so. (To take one non-random example: "Iraqi partisans don't count when activating Persia." Hah! )
We sleep peaceably in our beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on our behalf.
