The "what happened to BNC?" thread
Hi forum readers,
Everyone that's been here for a couple of years would know that I used to be very active on the forums. And then in 2016 I sort of fell off the radar. Where before I would often make 6 posts a day, now it is more like 6 posts a month. Which basically ruins my chances of ever becoming the user with the most posts on the board (with the record at 19k something I'm giving up on that now!). But I feel like I owe it to you guys who have enjoyed my work for these years that there be an explanation.
Rest assured that I am alive and well. Nothing bad has happened to me (I hope I'm not jinxing myself with the thread ), and if PzC was my number 1 priority in life I would have no trouble starting up again. Well, a bit of trouble, because I don't have any idea where most of the files went, but files can be replaced. But PzC isn't my main priority any more, in fact its pretty close to the bottom of that list because I haven't installed it on my new computer (I still have the XP rig, but the internet on there was terrible so I use the new one a lot more now).
So what happened? Life did. I don't think I ever revealed that I was only about 15yo when I made the majority of my mods (I'm 18 now). Because I've never been a very social person, I didn't do a hell of a lot with my life other than PzC then, and I had a lot of time to burn on it. But school got busy (thank cow that's over!), Soviet Corps was IMO rubbish so that failed to bring me back, and I found other stuff to do with my life. I've joined an alternate history site (take a guess at the name!), and become a crazy fan of Survivor since 2016, and between those and what I actually have to do, doesn't leave a lot for anything else. I will say I'm a lot happier now than I was three years ago though, so I think I've made the right choice.
What this means is that for all intents and purposes, I'm finally abandoning PzC modding. WWI and the global one were totally finished and have been forever. I don't have all of the Mongol files anymore and it will be more trouble to finish it than I believe worthwhile. As for the other projects, I can't even remember what half of them were any more so -\ /- . I'll leave the mediafire links active at least for a while longer (I don't have any pressing need to get rid of them), but there won't be any more updates. If any members of the community want to release updates or whatever and continue the legacy, that's fine by me. I'll probably still lurk the threads from time to time (I do so about every 3 days now), but this thread does give me an excuse to not do anything. More seriously though, don't be surprised if I do forget to check.
I'm not totally abandoning Slitherine however, so if you really urgently need to nag me about something I will still check my PM box. Though no-one has sent me anything in years so I'm not sure why I'm mentioning this at all. Apart from that, yes I have been making a mod, but for Strategic Command WWI (not the new game!). I haven't officially announced it yet and won't be giving any more details for a little bit, but I'll be on the matrix forum one day to talk about it more.
In the meantime, thanks to everyone that contributed to the 8777 total downloads of my various works. And to everyone else for making this place awesome!
(and yes, I will check this thread again, so if you want to say something nice, please reply. if you want to be a jerk or say something stupid, please click on the red X in the corner of your screen instead)

Nice to hear from you again, and thanks for all you did - I had no idea you were so young when you did it!

You did a lot of good work and made a big contribution. I still play your WW1 mod from time to time and one day will have another go at the Mongols when I need a break from my very slow work on my own mods.

I make no promises, but it's likely I'll attempt to make something with PzC2jeff00t wrote:thxs for all , maybe we will see u on panzer corps 2 ?

Thanks for all your work BNC, I came quite late to the PzC party but have collected and tried many of the mods as well as ploughing through the official DLC. Good luck in wherever life takes you
