Unoccupied transport units in scenarios

When I try deploying trains, transport aircraft or trucks without anything on board it doesn't work - nothing appears on the board unless the transport has a unit to carry.

There's a few scenarios in mods and official campaigns that use unoccupied transports so I know it is possible, but it doesn't work for me. Can somebody describe how you've made it work?

In my case, I just create a new unit in the equipment file, with recon class or similar and same stats of the pretended transport, otherwise is impossible to place an empty transport. I think.

Yes, that is correct. I am unable to place anything with a class of "14" directly on the map.

Thanks for the replies. It's good to know it isn't just me.

44 West has a scenario with two bonus halftracks and the Kampinoska forest scenario in 39 East has all the trains (and there are several others), so I'm sure it's possible and worth asking. Meanwhile, it's back to using truck recon units or whatever.

It is in GC44West Anzio.
The two halftracks SdKfz 251/1 are "PanzerGrenadier" (1st and 2nd PanzerGrenadier).
I have never known how developers made to add them to the game. If somebody knows I would be curious to know the technique. :?:

Never tried it myself, so dunno for sure, but as an idea:

Maybe *temporarily* edit the unit data file so that those TPs have another class? Then put them on the map in the editor, save the scn, and edit them back to their original TP class?

*should go without saying that you better backup your unit file before messing around with it*

You can buy truck and deploy it.

For building a Bridge, Bunkers, Airport or delivery Supply, for example.
You can also not buy it, just deploy in Editor :)
