Re: Rise of the Mongols - v0.2 beta released. (Mar 8, 2015)
Not sure how much has been uploaded already, but are people able to help make some units that I can use for the Middle Eastern scenarios?
I have found a cavalry unit that is suitable but I don't think anything else is in the files yet. Specifically a spearman/peasant unit similar to the Chinese version, some desert archers and a catapult of some sort.

It's not supposed to be anything like Fantasy General - all of the scenarios currently in the campaign occured in real life (the first four focus on the rise of Genghis Khan within Mongolia)Camoflagecaper wrote:BiteNibbleChomp,, nice Mod!! Hey almost the close to Fantasy General!!?

The entire Chinese Nation and half of Europe wish that Genghis Khan had been only a "Fantasy General".
Old Timer Panzer General fan. Maybe a Volksturm soldier now. Did they let Volksturm drive Panzers?

Talking of Fantasy General, aren't there some animations and sound effects that could be useful for the Mongols and Romans? Eg arrows or spears flying, and catapult shots?

Quite likely. If we can extract them then I will definitely have a place for them
And they did ruin the Middle East (which is still recovering today!) - I think they would have done the best out of everyone with just a Fantasy General!

At first thought yes, but the Khans did much for trade between east and west, and provided Europe (unintentionally) with a lot of new technology, including print and gunpowder.flakfernrohr wrote:The entire Chinese Nation and half of Europe wish that Genghis Khan had been only a "Fantasy General".

Instructions are the same as with any GME-based mod, put them in the MODS folder in the PzC directory.
Though this is still a beta and will likely remain so for most of this year, so many things are still missing
But enjoy

Re: Rise of the Mongols - v0.2 beta released. (Mar 8, 2015)
Revised campaign structure:
Merkits (1200)
Betrayal (1201)
Keraits (1203)
Naimans (1204)
Western Xia (1207)
Great Wall (1211)
Zhongdu (1215)
Kara Khitai (1218)
Khwarezmia (1219)
Punjab (1221)
Throne Claims (1227)
Kaifeng (1232)
Caizhou (1234)
Xiangyang (1236)
Korea (1237)
Ruthenia (1240)
Hungary (1241)
Holy Rome (1242)
Constantinople (1243)
Islamic Lands (1244)
Francia (1246)
Scandinavia (1247)
Caledonia (1248)
England (1249)
This change is mostly to remove the 2 major gaps in the timeline of the old setup (1243-1252 and 1263-1276), which remained unfilled. Also, by moving the Korean mission back to 1237 opened up the possibility for a serious move into Europe for the last stage of the campaign. As the campaign lasts as long as you have the forces to keep conquering, I say that the Mongol core was officially exhausted after the Hungarian mission, causing it to be unable to move to Holy Rome (where even the Emperor was fearing the horde!)

Conquest of the Central Asian Portion of the Silk Road is complete. This was a bloody battle though and it will only get harder!

How is the mod progressing bite?. Any prospect for a full release on the horizon?

8 of 24 missions done. But I still have to mess around with UI and other stuff before it will be ready. Don't expect anything before September - but for now you have WWI to play

Yeah, I think in the next weeks maybe I will take a break from The Great Patriotic War, so I will dive into the WWI to clear my mind

Khwarezmia.
This scenario is the last time you will receive significant reinforcements (in the form of the Chatagid and Toluid armies arriving in late 1219-early 1220). Any further campaigns will likely be decided by how many men you kept alive at the previous battles!

Report from the field: Samarqand fell in early May 1220. Much siege equipment will be needed here.
I expect to be able to release a v0.3 update very soon, adding Kara-Khitai, Khwarezmia and Punjab scenarios to the campaign.
And they are no longer kind to your army either - I lost 9 in Khwarezmia alone (compared with no more than 2 in either of the Chinese missions)

Persia fell in October 1220, so it is time for the Keshiks to rush across the Indus:
