Re: RumpNissen's Flags and Roundels
I got a new job for you:
I need you to do more flags similar to those used in the WWI mod, but for War of the World 1.1 (and my next thing )
Country list:
- Neutral flag (white)
0- Germany
1- Britain
2- USA
3- USSR
4- France
5- Italy
6- Poland
7- Belgium
8- Netherlands
9- Nationalist Spain
10- Republican Spain
11- Slovak state
12- Luxembourg
13- Hungary
14- Romania
15- Bulgaria
16- Yugoslavia
17- Greece
18- Canada
19- New Zealand
20- Australia
21- Blue Germany
22- Red Germany (again, yes - devs put 2 germany's in for unknown reasons)
23- Norway
24- Sweden
25- Free Poland
26- Free France
27- Switzerland
28- Turkey
29- South Africa
30- India
31- Vichy France
32- China (modern day Taiwan flag)
33- Japan - preferably the "rising sun" flag with all the lines coming out of the circle in the middle)
34- Finland
Use this flag as a basis for the German flags (Red + Blue) instead of the "kriegsmarine flag" that was used for WWI Blue Germany. - BNC

Re: RumpNissen's Flags and Roundels
Being your best customer, I have another job for you. I saw that you did a bunch of flags on http://hoiflags.blogspot.com.au/search/label/Poland , and am hoping you can do some similar ones for PzC, in a "banner form" - like in hearts of iron
Country list:
War of the World list +
35. Austria (1937)
36. Czechoslovakia
37. Rhineland (Green Stripe above a White Stripe)
38. Saarland (Blue stripe above a white stripe above a Black stripe)
39. Lithuania
40. Latvia
41. Estonia
42. Independent Croatia (1941-2)
43. Ireland
44. Portugal
Also need round flags for the last 10.
AND IN GIF FORMAT! (It can be done with photoshop)

Re: RumpNissen's Flags and Roundels
Ah, so you found my earlier work on Paradox games ^^
I'm not quite sure how you want the flags to be sized, positioned and filtered. Do you want it vertical or the usual horizontal? Want me to use one of the Paradox filters (Hearts of Iron 2, Darkest Hour, Victoria or Europa Universalis 3)?
May I ask why exactly you need the flags in GIF-format for?
I can get to work on the spheres right away

Re: RumpNissen's Flags and Roundels
I am looking for the effect that the flags give in Hearts of Iron II and Empire: total war, where they "wave" at you a bit - to make it look more realistic - use the same horizontal shape, but have it situated on the top of the hex, roughly the size in my screen shot of Poland (the other one took a piece out of Uk18 that i drew on)
The gif file is needed so that the flags can do the wave animation, which will (hopefully) be nearly identical to that of HoI2.
Oh, and by the way, my stormtroopers can be credited for finding your earlier work!

Re: RumpNissen's Flags and Roundels
The thing is, I don't think it's possible to load GIF's as overlays. The format for the game's overlays is PNG in RGB-colour. I would have to change it into indexed colour if I made them in GIF. I will try though.

Re: RumpNissen's Flags and Roundels
Gave up looking for gif file things (or ways to change it in the files)
New instructions:
- use png format as before
- keep the HoI2-style positioning
- make it look like they still "wave" without making them move at all.
- keep countries 0->44
Show me the results!

Almost, but if possible larger, and I would prefer that alternative german flag from a few posts previous

Re: RumpNissen's Flags and Roundels
I think I've found a pretty decent style to suit your liking:
Also, I've once again revamped my spheric flags:
What do you think?
I can make them larger and still keep their resolution. I'm just starting with this size. The problem with the earlier style is that it was too pixelated and blocky to make it larger. Also, I've once again revamped my spheric flags:

Re: RumpNissen's Flags and Roundels
I say they're awesome! Larger would be better though! Also hoping you can do the WWI German flag without the iron cross in the middle for Germany (Identical to the HoI flag for Ger.).

Liking the wavy effect. There's a cool breeze a comin', so get ready for some chills and spills.RumpNissen wrote:What do you think?

Re: RumpNissen's Flags and Roundels
I found a better style on the Paradox forums. I think it is the closest we will get to HoI inspired ones:
Size can be the same as my pic
Any chance you could do this style for the 45 previously mentioned?
Also, could you add a secondary British flag on the end of the list (for use in Egypt so the Brits can't purchase there at game start)
Use the pre-1935 flag for Germany that is used in Hearts of Iron, for flag 0 and the red Germany around 20. For Blue Germany, use the same style as in War of the World's new flags (I won't be using the blue flag)

Re: RumpNissen's Flags and Roundels
That's the Victoria-style. But just to be safe, I made the rest of the styles for you to choose:
Left to right
Hearts of Iron 2 (HoI), Victoria (VIC), Birger/Europa Universalis (BIR), Darkest Hour (DH)
