This means that during the capture of Tunis by our recon, during the Axis turn, triggers triggered which gave them reinforcements intended for the capture of Tunisia for the defense of Italy and Sicily. Haha, so don't do that !! :P
This will only strengthen the Axis.

North
In the north, our units spotted large enemy forces.
The Command cannot yet determine for what reason the enemy stopped the withdrawal. It is not clear yet that a trap or some other plan.
In any case, we will not be able to attack 1 infantry unit and 1 mortar.
The second infantry unit while protecting Arkhangelsk from sabotage.

Centre
The enemy continued to withdraw beyond the river. Obviously, he wants to establish a line of defense here.
Our troops are slowly moving west.
The Axis has a higher level of motorization and they easily overtake us.
Our 2nd Tank Army occupied Gomel with the aim of a flank attack in the direction of Minsk.
Reconnaissance aviation found a train with Panther (!) in Minsk.

Nothing happens in the air.
We concentrate forces for further action.

South
In the area of Odessa landed troops.
But on the horizon, the Italian infantry was spotted.
Obviously, the enemy also decided to strengthen the southern direction and prevent the seizure of Romanian oil.

In the area of Nikolaev was found Rudel on Stukas.
The one that previously destroyed our partisan unit.
But today, the chances were on the side of Rudel, he managed to survive, so the Command decided to surround him and destroy in the next turn.

Our fleet returning to bases.

The sad news, the submarine from the Norwegian coast was destroyed.
Obviously this was done only with the help of aviation.
Unfortunately, the new plan of the Command to attack Tirpitz in the bay using two submarines simultaneously will have to be postponed.
Oh yeah, the Command believes that there is an open passage to the bay of Trondheim! :) But it is covered with magnetic mines.

We have a large shortage of infantry, but a lot of artillery.
Therefore, while progress is very slow.
Tanks to use in this area is impractical.

Tanks in the area of Gomel received a rest.
The SU-85 is also aimed at strengthening the 2nd Tank Army.

In the direction of the Velikie Luki, the start of the movement was the 3rd formed Tank Army.
The Command has a plan for deep envelopment of the Army Group Center.
Tank armies from the south (to Minsk) and from the north through Vitebsk.
Let's see how it will be implemented in the context of the upcoming 'rasputitsa'.

Our 1st Tank Army is approaching Kiev and has already occupied the airfield.
Enemy fighters were found.
Obviously, they were redeployed from the Central Front.
The enemy is clearly concerned about the possible loss of Romanian oil and is now trying to strengthen the southern direction.
We are also transferring additional forces of fighters from the center here.
Both sides are preparing for a decisive battle for Ukraine.

Near Odessa, the marines began to fight.
"Lucky" Rudel was able to escape the encirclement in the rain.

Torch
The enemy has a great superiority in forces.
Therefore, this theater will be declared as secondary.

The task for him is to detain the largest possible number of enemy troops.
And also destroy the maximum amount of enemy aviation.
Here we have the advantage in fighters.
Only during this turn one fighter and one enemy Ju-87 were destroyed.

The next turn will be the command to retreat to the mountains and fortify there.
Probably the enemy decides to destroy all our troops in Africa or will be forced to keep here a part of the troops and part of the lead to Europe.

The command believes that even if we do not land in Italy, the USSR will be able to defeat Germany on the Eastern Front.
And to reinforce the victory by landing in France.

Interesting German Command decided to attack in the Caucasus?
Our Command believes that it is doomed to failure and the best strategy for the enemy is to leave the area and get ready to Allies landing in France.

Our tank units and other reinforcements are moving to the Caucasus region.
Although it is not fast they move mainly on their own.

North
In the north, our units moved away a bit.
And the aircraft continued to strike at the enemy.

On the Leningrad direction, we took the airfield.
But we have very little infantry here (1 infantry unit and 1 bridge engineers) and our advancement is very limited.
At the same time, recon reports that the enemy began to strengthen Leningrad.

The forward infantry unit of the 3rd Tank Army encounter another Kampfgruppe of the enemy in the area of Velikie Luki.
Probably we will not be able to surround the Army Group Center.

In the area of Smolensk, the infantry commander was too passionate and took the lead and probably now the enemy do not miss the chance to destroy the pontoon engineer unit.
Unfortunately, due to the lack of infantry, they have to be used in combat operations.

In the area of Gomel, our troops began crossing the Dnieper.
It also focuses artillery.

Immediately an air strike was performed on it.
Is it interesting is the same unit transferred from Minsk or another?

Odessa is in our hands.
Marines fights with superior enemy.

In the north, 2 of our units 122mm high-speed artillery and recon hit the fuel trap and froze.
Command is furious.
Without this artillery, the seizure of Kiev and the deep coverage of the southern group of enemy troops by the 1st Tank Army failed.

In the area of Uman is enemy Kampfgruppe.
We are increasingly confronted with such formations.
They consist of a mixed group of different types of units, about 6-7 pcs.
Usually it includes Artillery, anti-aircraft unit, AT, infantry and tanks.

I mean, Allies need to hold Tunis at least one full turn.
Otherwise, reinforcements for the Axis will appear during the Axis turn, after the Axis will bring Tunisia back and there will no longer be any reinforcements for the Allies during the Allies turn.

Here on the current data.

in the East - 25%
The defense of Germany - 20%
Norway is about 20%

Norway
Air reconnaissance confirmed the actions of our underwater saboteurs.
Tirpiz was seriously damaged in Trondheim after their attack.

Currently, the command has developed 4 plans for the destruction of Tirpitz. :D
1. Direct airstrike.
For which all aviation is already in ETA = 1 turn from the target.
The Command hopes that the weather forecast for the next turn - Snow will be erroneous.

2. Get into the bay submarines.
Our analysts suggest the presence of minefield vulnerabilities.
And apparently 2 submarines together will be able to go to the battleship and sink it despite losses from magnetic mines.
it is obvious that one submarine defeats.
This can be done only during snowfall.
But there is a problem that one of the submarines allocated for this mission was recently sunk by the enemy.
Despite the fact that now another submarine is moving from the east coast of England, this may take too much time.

Also, after the attack of underwater saboteurs, the enemy will likely close the gap in the defense or have already done so and operation with submarines will not be feasible.
In this case, the submarines will be refocused on the passage to the Baltic Sea and the destruction of the Kriegsmarine.

3. Strike of the Fleet.(The most promising option at this time)
During the winter, demining the western passage to Trondheim.
Then hold the battleship to the shooting position.
And shoot Tirpitz in the port.

4. Sabotage (Least feasible.)
To approach the port by the diversion group and try to destroy the battleship from the land.
Now Tirpitz has strength = 1. And now such an option with great luck is possible.
But soon the enemy will begin to repair it and the window of opportunity will close.

What ideas do you have?)

Interestingly, the Italian infantry has a mission counter-sabotage or protection of the coast from possible landings?
It looks like the second. :)

Additional exploration in the Minsk area did not find Panthers.
This means that in the south of Panther we have previously seen in Minsk.
And also the fact that while the enemy has no other Panthers.

The air reconnaissance of the Brest region practically did not reveal enemy troops.
But west of Minsk an interesting position of a unit of pontoon engineers was discovered.
Analysts at Headquarters guessing about its purpose.

In the area of Gomel, we began operations on the other side of the Dnieper.
But the wooded-swamp terrain impedes the effectiveness of armored vehicles.

We freed Smolensk.
One of our AT guns pulled too far ahead and was encounter with Ferdinand.
The opponent's turn will show what her fate will be.
Perhaps the enemy uses a combined strike to destroy it.

In the north, in the Velikie Luki, we destroyed the enemy AT unit.

Center air.
The enemy, under the cover of fighters, decided to launch a bombing attack on our Guards T-34.
We responded by placing anti-aircraft guns in a nearby hex.

In the Velikie Luki region, the enemy used new night bombers, analogs of our night U-2s.

Southwest of Uman, our best super ace Lily Litvyak was shoot down a messer.
The attack also began our hero Ivan Kozhedub.
(Screenshots will be on the next turn)
After which a strong bombing attack was made on Panther and the mobile german artillery.
They have already lost about 50% of their strength, but so far they have not reached the front.

Analysis of the current location of the enemy units shows.
That in Africa he has about 30 units and on the entire Eastern Front, only about 50 units.
An interesting proportion.

The thing is, as long as the Tirpitz is in Trondheim it acts as a "fleet in being" thereby preventing the spawning of a small British task force in the North Sea which can be used to invade Norway/Trondheim. Which is of course important as Trondheim is one of the "valuable" cities which gives a bit more prestige to the Axis player in each turn as long as it is held, and also because of the airfields in Norway that can be useful to attack Germany. But this task force can be used elsewhere as well, for example in our first test play Intenso used them to fortify the defense of Britain against my ongoing invasion which proved to be vital. And potentionally these could also be used to land in a lightly protected Denmark or the Low Countries for instance, creating yet another front and giving some more headache to the Axis player. Like another version of the historical (and failed) Marked Garden operation.

And it does not matter if the Tirpitz is not in Trondheim because it is sunk or because it is forced to move out (as it is the case at this stage in the other paralel game in which Intenso plays the Axis) or being used elsewhere, for example to support the invasion of England (as it was the case in our first test play). If the Tirpitz is not in Trondheim for whatever reason, there is a small chance (slowly increasing but always well under 10%) in each turn that the British task force gets spawned. Over time the small chance in each turn adds up and if the Tirpitz is sunk early on it can result in a fairly high chance / near certainty by 1944. But if the Tirpitz can survive longer than it historically survived (which is late 1944) then the British task force would not spawn. (As historically the British did not land in Norway after the sinking of the Tirpitz, even though earlier they did consider that and if the Tirpitz had been sunk earlier they might have done so. But after the successful invasion of France the Allies only concentrated on that theatre to end the war as soon as possible.)

In the end, it is not crucial, but fairly important, more like a side-quest and anyway, it is a lot of fun and also gives a job to the otherwise mostly inactive Home Fleet until mid 1944 if the Axis does not attept to land in Britain. I greatly enjoyed this part of the mod playing from both sides. It really is a game within the game. :)

Thanks very much for the insight, now with that context it puts it all into perspective.

Tirpiz was seriously damaged in Trondheim after their attack.

Currently, the command has developed 4 plans for the destruction of Tirpitz. :D

What ideas do you have?)

Why is the destruction of the Tirpitz such a huge deal, you bring it up in both of your plays as if it is crucial. What does its destruction do?
Using an air base in Norway, it will be possible to conduct raids on Germany from both sides at once.
It is also very important that these bombers can be escorted fighters. What can significantly reduce losses among the Allied bombers.
Fighter escort is now available only in the Ruhr area.
With the appearance of Allies long-range fighters, bases in Norway will be even more effective.

And of course the Tirpitz is protecting the Axis iron ore supply from Norway plus threatening the Allied Arctic convoys to Arkhangelsk and Murmansk...

Yes, and that's why Trondheim was made a valuable city: its possession represents the German control over the iron ore supplies from Sweden. Perpahps it should be even more important than it is at the moment. Without iron there is no steel, without steel there are no tanks, U-boats or aircraft.
