GC 42 Army: Kradschützen Infantry and Recon

Post by dalfrede »

I have just completed DLC 41 on Field Marshall. My core is different from others I have seen posted.

I played Us Corp through D Day twice on my IPAD. restarting several times to restructure my army.
Lessons learned were applied here. Such as Willies Jeep vs 88, and Willies Jeep vs Panther gives unexpected results. I played the full campaign on my mac air with Nico’s equipment mod [P38 upgrade path].

I found the HMC M8 so useful in protecting M10 AT from infantry, I modified the equip file to make M10 AT/ARTY switchable. Here I modified Amulet’s Stug III mods for r=2, at reduced attack values.

R=1 arty ?? I attempted a trimode mod but failed.

Started with GLC 39 extended [Nico’s BYOA mod], modified GLC 40 & 41 to play both tracks. The French and British in 40, Kiev and Leningrad in 41, I payed for the scenarios, why not play them. In US Corp I played both paths and picked the best result.

No trucks, with Trump’s exit from Paris we must all do what we can to fight AGW. one pioneer has a half track, all other infantry walks, . . . or rides motorcycles.

Kradschützen:
In Nico’s equip file have recon movement. GD=6 same as recon, but soft target.
Most tanks have better HA than SA, Krad will survive longer than HT recon.
With I=3, Kradschützen are better infantry than the Polish, Norwegian, Dutch, French, or Russian infantry.
As infantry, when parked on forest or city hex AI will not attack, try that with PzII or hard target recon.
At over strength=13 the prestige cost [192] is less than full strength inf with motorized transport.
With move=8 can keep up with armor, builds exp faster with more combat.
GD=6, Ammo=5, Fuel=40 are all low, if forced in 43 to “upgrade” to ground pounder, at *** or **** is that a problem?

Notes:
[s] sidelined waiting for Kittys in 43
[1] Started as Krad, got M+1 hero -> MG 34
[2] Got second M+1 hero -> pioneer
[3] Was French, if I had known Rondorf was Pz II would not have upgraded to flamm
[4] First two arty heroes were range at ~ 250 kills
[5] modified amulet mod, multimode AT, ATY r=2, sa=7, ha =4. Trimode did not work
There comes a time on every project when it is time to shoot the engineer and ship the damn thing.
