what software for a video AAR?

Is there software that will enable you to do a video AAR (like the youtube videos) or do you have to use external hardware (a camera)?. Thanks for info

Look into LoiLo Game Recorder...

I tried it but it seems to produce really bad visual quality with enormous file sizes, e.g. 10 minutes is about 1GB Am I doing something wrong? is there another alternative?

I use OBS Studio (free). You can use it for live streaming or just recording. If I want to do more post production editing I use camtasia (not free).

I tried OBS and I just cant get it to work and yes I also went through a load of how to videos on youtube on how to game record but still could not get it to work. So any other suggestions anyone? thanks

Maybe FRAPS? It also has a free version and it might well be the easiest to use.
