Merry Christmas Brothers!
I know this is not how you would like to spend this sacred holiday, but it is what has been placed before us as our next task to live out our vocation as soldier.
During our day of rest we gave the Allied Commander an opportunity to save his men from utter destruction, but he has responded cryptically with 1 word. NUTS!!!
Not sure what to think of that, but now that we have had our much needed rest we are being called to help with the assault itself so that we can continue to move forward with this offensive.
Now let’s use these rockets that have already arrived and see if we might save the rockets we escorted here for further missions.
We have 3 days with which to make this a Christmas for the ages.
Press forward fast and destroy everything in your path.
Move Out!!!

Battle Report: Day 1 12/24/1944 CHRISTMAS EVE!!!
Day 1 Sunny Hour 1 8am (86%)
Started out the morning by using unexpected sunshine to bomb out the battery of 76mm AT guns guarding Flamierge in the North West of Bastogne.
Forces around Givry rushed towards LongChamps and destroyed a Battalion of US Infantry and their 75mm artillery battery, our forces near Clochimont did the same thing for similar group near Sibret.
We were able to seize control of Remon Fosse.
We forced the surrender of the Paratroopers holding Wardin as well as Regular Battalion holding Flamierge as well as the 75mm battery and seize control of the cities.
Our Kradschutzen were severally pressured as 2 groups of M4 Sherman’s took out half of their number but they paid for it dearly as it cost them 8 of their machines.
Also their M5 Stuart rushed around to nick our sIG38(t)M’s but because we were guarded by our Nebelwerfer we only had 1 of our machines damaged.

Day 1 Sunny Hour 2 9am (88)
The 5th SE Panther was recognized at being skilled with 2 extra kills when attacking after helping with the destruction of the M5 Stuart’s and 2 M4 Sherman’s which allowed us to seize all of Sibret.
Unfortunately Heinrich Bar was surprised by a group of Mustang’s as they flew across the field of battle but thankfully they only lost 2 Fighter’s to the American’s 8, which were then finished off by our Do-335A’s.
In the East we continued to move forward by destroying all of the defenders of the Wardin area and were able to seize control of most of it.
In the North matched the Wardin success as we were able to destroy all the defenders around Flamierge and seize control of it.
We were even able to destroy another US Infantry Battalion around LongChamps before the end of the hour.
Unfortunately their Bombers found our +4 Att Wurfrahmen devastating the unit leaving them with just 2 functioning machines.
Their Bombers also hit our Flamm’s riding with Heinz Rondorf sending 6 of their machines to the scrap heap.
On the ground 2 attacks hit our Churchill’s pretty hard sending 7 in the disabled column.

Day 1 Sunny 10am Hour 3 (100)
Forces around Sibret moved up towards Villeroux where they destroyed a group of M4-A3(76)’s and Infantry Battalion in Villeroux itself which allowed us to seize control of it, as well as last part of Wardin itself.
Also destroyed a battery of 76mm AT guns.
The battle in the air finally comes together as we shot down 2 P-51 Mustangs and 2 A-26 Invaders.
In the North we worked to wrest control of the North Central Command Post as we eliminated 1 defender as well as another part of the 101st Para Division.
This allowed us to call up replacements to replace beleaguered units including Churchill IV’s, and Heinz Rondorf, as well as devastated +4 Att Wurfrahmen. (95)
This drew out even more defenders as they accosted our Churchill’s in the Forest guarded by StuG3B’s which only got 1 of our machines damaged while they lost 2 of theirs.
Their AA guns found our Ta-152H’s shooting down 3 of our planes.
Their 76mm gun emplacements got aggressive hitting our Green Infantry taken out 30% for only a 2 gun loss to themselves and a 2nd grouping hitting our T-34/41’s which took out 6 of our vulnerable tanks.

Hour 4: Day 1 Sunny 11am
I thought we would be able to move from Sibret, however this does not seem possible as we destroyed another US Battalion near Sibret.
We also moved forward on the outskirts of Southern part of Bastogne as we destroyed 2 Infantry Battalion’s.
Also in the South East destroyed a battery of 76mm AT’s and 3 inch AA near Wardin.
We destroyed another Infantry Battalion around Long Champs and even moved forward to begin pressuring Champs itself.
In the North destroyed 76mm AT guns and US Infantry Battalion around Northern Command Post.
We called up more replacements for Kradschutzen, Churchill’s, and T-34/41’s. (98)
The enemy had no response.

Hour 5: Day 1 Noon Sunny (98)
In Bastogne Defense able to rout out 75mm artillery battery.
Forces around Sibret continue to hassle us but with one fewer 75mm GMC.
Brought up 2 regular replacements for our green Infantry.
Assault on Grand Champs is continuing as we eliminated 76mm AT guns.
Removed more of the guns and defenders around the Northern Command Post, but still have a couple more battalions to dig out.
The enemy Bomber’s were able to nick one of the Flamm’s riding with Albert Kerscher.
More Bombers devastated our sIG38(t)m’s leaving with only 2 machines left.
Enemy surprised me by seizing Tillet as well as part of Sibret.
US Infantry Battalion attacked Kradschutzen guarded by sIG38(t)m which eliminated 30% of our force but lost 70% of theirs.
Our trap sprung on their US Infantry Battalion who thought they were attacking our vulnerable T-34/41’s but since we are guarded by 2 artillery battery’s it cost them 60% of their strength.
Their final attack was another Infantry Battalion hitting our fast moving 5th Regular Infantry which brought us down by 20% but cost them 80% of their force.

Hour 6: Day 1 Cloudy 1pm (97)
In preparation for the forces accosting Sibret we Forced the surrender a group of M-10 Wolverine’s, as well as destroyed 2 US Infantry Battalion’s.
Our assault in Champs bears fruit as we destroy the last of the defenders and seize control of it.
2 more US battalions around the Northern Command Post and seized control of that as well.
In the air shot down 2 wings of B-25 Mitchell’s.
Continuing to push into Bastogne as we destroyed another 76mm AT guns and US Infantry Battalion.
Brought up replacements for our Kradschutzen and our sIG38(t)M’s. (97)
Enemy’s flanking maneuver continues as they seize Sprimont and Fortification near Flamierge.
Fighter hit +3 Def Wurfrahmen taking 2 of them out.
101st Airborne were getting bold as they hit our 6th Gebirsjaeger but we gave as good as we got.
Their recons found our sIG38(t)M but they too gave as good as we got.
General McAuliffe hit T-34/41 guarded by sIG38(t)M but this did not prevent them from destroying 6 of our Tank’s for a single loss from theirs.
Their 76mm AT guns got aggressive on our KV-1B’s guarded by StuG3B which took out 2 of our tanks for 6 of their guns.
The final attack was their attack on our 5th Regular Infantry Battalion but again we gave as good as we got.

Hour 7: Day 1 Sunny 2pm
Our forces rejoiced as we eliminated the threat from General McCauliffe around Hemroulle.
In the air shot down P-51D Mustangs.
In Bastogne destroyed another part of the 101st Airborne, which is allowing us to finally begin pressuring Bastogne itself, but unable to assault.
Another 76mm AT battery destroyed around the Northern Command Post and have backed out in such a way to set a trap for their guys poised to seize the area.
Around Sibret used my forces in that area as best I could by forcing the surrender of M4-A32’s, M4 Sherman’s, and M-8 Greyhound’s.
Artillery and Fighter destroyed 2 of our Nebelwerfer guns.
101st Battalion tried hurting our green Infantry Battalion guarded by 2 unexpected artillery batteries which cost them almost their entire Battalion while causing minimal damage to us.
M-10 Wolverine’s found and hit our 2nd PanzerGrenadier guarded by Wurfrahmen’s which disabled 50% of our forces with only 2 of theirs disabled.
They were able to seize Northern Command Post and Flamierge.

Hour 8: Day 1 3pm Snowy
As the snow falls around Sibret we spent most of the remainder of the day securing the area under the cover of snow and getting 2 replacements for our Nebelwerfers, we were able to still eliminate a battalion of Regular Infantry in the area.
In Bastogne itself was able to destroy another part of the 101st Airborne.
With my JagdPanther was able to destroy the US Infantry near the Northern Command Center and brought up replacements for the 5th Regular Infantry, and for the SE King Tiger and KV-1B near Hemronville.
Thank God for our boys manning our Nebelwerfer as they were able to stultify the assault on our Kradschutzen holding Sibret as we decimating 80% of their force for only 20% loss of ours.
Unfortunately right after that another US Infantry Battalion found our Nebelwerfer’s and took out 4 of our guns.
Thankfully their 76mm AT’s got aggressive on our seemingly vulnerable StuG3B’s, but they were guarded by sIG38(t)M’s leaving them with 3 fewer guns. :D

Battle Report: Day 2 12/25/1944 Christmas DAY!!!
Turn 9: Day 2 8am Sunny
In the South destroyed a 76mm anti-tank guns outside of Bastogne and another outside of Northern Command Center and seized control of it.
Pressure mounting around Sibret but still able to destroy 2 groups of 155mm M12 GMC’s as well as 2 US Battalion’s.
After Suppressing was able to bomb out 3 Inch AA outside of Hemroulle, as well as a group of M5’s destroyed.
Scary times as Heinz Rondorf sustained 3 attacks and left him with only a single machine left to fight another day.
Hellcat around Sibret hit our Churchill’s taking out 5 of our machines for a loss of only 2 of theirs.
Fighter nicked 2nd SE King Tiger.
2 Infantry Battalion hit my men running with Oleh Dir that are unfortunately out of ammo taking out 20% of our strength, as only hunkering down in Sigret saved me from suffering more serious losses.

Turn 10: Day 2 9am Sunny
In the air brought down P-47 D’s and P-51 Mustang’s wings as well as bombed out Hellcat and M5’s.
Brought out 4 elite replacements for my 2nd PanzerGrenadier.
Dugout 101st out of Hemroulle.
Units beginning to pressure Senonchamps as we were able to destroy battery of 75mm artillery guns.
At this point we are for the first time able to open up 1st part of Bastogne by digging out US Infantry Battalion and seized 1st part of it as well as another 76.2mm AntiTank Guns on the outskirts of Bastogne itself. Even though we are starting to get some measure of success around Bastogne the enormity of the defenses in Bastogne seem impossible to overcome.
The counter attack leave us discouraged as 3 Fighter attacks hit me leaving with only 4 functioning Fighter’s.
Their Bombers hit 2 of our Wurfrahmens for a loss of 6 machines on both groups.
US Infantry Battalion came and seized part of Sibret and another Battalion hit my Kradschutzen which took down 40% of my total Strength.

Turn 11: Day 2 10am 12/25/1944 Sunny
In the air shot down both wings of B-25 Mitchell’s so was able to bring out full replacements for my weakened Wurfrahmens.
King Tigers helped to roll over M4 A3/E2’s and a group of Sherman’s in the North Western Group.
Even able to seize back Flamierge and their airfield.
Also destroyed group of P-47D’s in the air.
Brought up 4 replacements for our Kradschutzen and Nebelwerfer.
In Bastogne itself was able to dig out another group of US Infantry Battalion as well as 75mm artillery battery.
In Hemroulle dug out US Infantry Battalion and rushed into bolster their defense and seize control of Hemroulle.
We called up 5 replacements to bolster our Churchill’s.
The enemy responded by overwhelming and destroying our +1 Spotting Gebirsjaeger in Bastogne proper.
As the enemy seized all of Sibret and Clochimont.
Our Southern Front is becoming overwhelmed as they continue to bring forces up to accost us.

Turn 12: Day 2 11am 12/25/1944 Cloudy
It was at this time when I had an epiphany as I spent some extra time thinking about this battle. It was at that time that I remembered the V-1’s and V-2’s sitting in my back pocket. :D

Men, it is time to push for the win, lets bring out those “wonder” weapons to help us dig these B*ST*R*S out of Bastogne proper.
Also brought out my other Churchill near Clochimont.
Our Jagdpanther’s and Uber Rudel destroyed a group of M4-A3 (105)’s.
We rushed back to seize Sprimont and even brought up Heinz Rondorf up to full strength to secure the win.
Around Northern Command Post destroyed a group of M4-A3/76’s.
In Bastogne itself able to force the surrender of some of the US Infantry Battalions, and even able to move into 1st Main Part of Bastogne.
Pressure around Senonchamps is easing as we destroyed another American Infantry Battalion.
Brought up 3 replacements for 2nd Panzer Grenadier and doing what I can to bring pressure back on Sibret.
But the pressure around Sibret itself intensifies beyond what I can handle as our Kradschutzen were wiped out along with 1 group of sIG38(t)M.
We just do not have enough around Sibret to be able to seize back the Initiative.

Hour 13: Day 2 12/25/1944 Noon Sunny
With the sun being out this is the best time to crush Bastogne with our Rocket’s.
In Bastogne itself this helped us to force the surrender of 2 parts of the 101st Airborne Division, along with a battery of 76mm Anti-tank guns and their 2 inch AA guns as well, leaving 1 last main part left to seize which we are already pressuring.
Near Clochimont destroyed 75mm HMC M8 and deployed P-26/40 into Clochimont to seize back control with a little deployment shenanigans.
In order to work for the Decisive on this extremely difficult map we have ordered a fresh group of King Tigers that cost a lot of our prestige to garner but should help us secure the area in Sibret. (90% Softcap)
Our units in and around Sibret by destroying a group of M4-A3(105)’s, US Infantry Battalion and 75mm HMC M8’s and even able to seize part of Sibret back.
Bought 6 Elite replacements of Heinz Wolfgang Schnaufer.
The enemy responded with a group of Wolverine’s hitting our P-26/40’s in Clochimont taking out 6 of ours for a loss of 4 of theirs.
A group of M-36 Jackson’s hit our Churchill’s for a loss of 5 of our machines for only a single loss of theirs.
Even their 76mm Anti-Tank guns got aggressive as they hit our KV-1B’s taking out 7 of our tanks for a loss of only 3 of their guns.

Turn 14: Day 2 12/25/44 Sunny 1pm (100)
In the air shot down P-47B’s and P-51D Mustangs wings.
Then rained terror by helping to destroy M-36 Jackson’s and really hurt the US Infantry Battalion on the outskirts of Tillet.
In Bastogne the finishing touches really take shape as we are able to eliminate a 75mm artillery battery, 76mm AT Guns, another US Battalion as well as the very last part of the 101st Airborne Division.
In Senonchamps destroyed 3 Inch AA as well as 76mm Anti-Tank Battery.
Before the hour was over we called up more replacements for my KV-1B.
The enemy responded by throwing everything at me in desperate attacks which meant we lost 3 of our units destroyed, gone, wiped out.
The units lost were our newest green King Tiger’s, our P-26/40’s, and our Churchill’s.
Fighter nicked Albert Kerscher and Regular Infantry Battalion hit our Greenest Infantry unit guarded by our StuG’s which made them lose more than half of their strength for a loss of only 20% of ours.
They also seized Clochimont back.

Turn 15: Day 2 12/25/1944 Sunny 2pm
This day started by removing the remainder of the Defense in Tillet and seized back the town itself.
In the air shot down P-51D Mustangs.
Also Rudel destroyed another group of Hellcat’s.
Around Sibret we are pushing back as we were able to destroy 2 groups of M-36/Jackson’s and seized part of it back.
The remnants of Bastogne were burned out which allowed us to take over even more of the great city.
Called up elites to bolster our greenest troops as well as Purchased a new sIG38(t)M and King Tiger around Villeroux along with 30cm Nebelwerfer in Bastogne itself. (96)
It was at this point that the enemy really had no response to our latest push, their resolve has been smashed, which invigorated our troops into rushing forward to seize the rest of what we could in the last hours of battle.

Turn 16: Day 2 12/25/1944 3pm Sunny (96)
The last hour of the 2nd day of battle we are opening up our presents as we removed the defense of US Infantry in Sibret and seized control of it.
In Bastogne itself finished all of the defenders left there and seized the rest of it, even started pressuring Bizory.
We also removed remaining defense of Senonchamps as we seized control of even this city.
The rest of the day was spent cleaning up the remainder of the force around Sibret which included 2 M4 Sherman’s and a group of M-10 Wolverine’s.
The only effective counter attack this last hour of the 2nd day of battle was the US Infantry Battalion that got caught by surprise when they tried attacking our Wurfrahmens guarded StuG3B -1 me -4 them and the rest were ineffective.

Battle Report: Day 3 12/26/1944
Turn 17: Day 3 12/26/1944 8am Cloudy (98)
Started this last day by eliminating infantry battalion near Bizory and seized it.
Did the same in Chenogne.
In the air shot down P-47B.
Now our force has pressed out around Clochimont as we destroyed 3 separate groups of M4 Sherman’s and 2 US Infantry Battalions which caused us to recognize that our super fast (+1 Movement) SE Tiger’s were able to kill 2 more than expected of them. (+2 Att) :D :D :D
Nothing left to do but walk into Clochimont for the Decisive Victory. 8)

Turn 18: Day 3 12/26/1945 9am Sunny (last hour)
Shot down last P-47B, finished 3 inch AA battery and seized back Clochimont for the Decisive Victory.

DECISIVE Victory ending with 21833 in prestige.
This was the most highly enjoyable battle for me so far in this 45 West Campaign and I have enjoyed these battles as they are extremely well set up and creative. But this one had me expecting a Marginal Victory, to playing it to the point of despair thinking I may end up with a loss, to the final outcome which was a very satisfying Decisive Victory.
I thought about going to Liege first but decided to take the historical route first so Nordwind.

Here are the final words of my fictional commander, for the losing path.
Wunderbar!!!
You have broke their back by defeating them in a timely fashion we have our choice between pressing on forward to Liege or go South to help our brothers in Operation Nordwind.
I know the blood in you is in full vigor now and you feel ready to take on the world, but we will be heading South and help bolster the forces their assaulting the Alsace Lorraine region.
Perhaps we can wreak enough destruction on the Allied armies that they willingly abandon their gains.
First off we are to pass on posthumously to our brothers in arms that fielded the Churchill’s that got wiped out with Iron Cross 2nd Class.
For their assistance in digging out some of these defensive ticks out of their holes we are awarding the 21st StuG3B and 5th SE Panther with Iron Crosses 2nd Class as well.
For helping secure the air Joseph Priller is awarded Iron Cross 1st Class.
The hero of the hour has to be the Flamm’s rolling with Albert Kerscher as they were instrumental in helping us dig out those B*ST*R*S in Bastogne and as such are being awarded with Swords added to their Knight’s Cross with Oak Leaves.
Now let’s head south to help ring in the New Year in Central France. :(

Until next time…Stay Lutheran My Friends. ;)

Scheisse!!!
All of our efforts have come to schiesse.
We are now here with our backs against the wall as the enemy is ready to push us back to our starting positions to this Ardennes Offensive.
Our great push has turned out to be a blip on the radar of the allies overwhelming advance.
We must revitalize this diminished advance and seize Strasbourg to show these Americans we are no paper Tiger.
Show them our teeth and our claws.

Day 1 Sunny at the start Cloudy at the end (65%)
Started this first day of our offensive by pushing forward and catching 2 groups of M-8 Greyhounds by surprise and destroying them along with infantry Battalion defending Winden and seized it.

In the afternoon we seized control of the air again as we shot down an entire wing of P-51B Mustang’s and B-25 Mitchell’s.
Their troops crossing the Rhine were again 1 Battalion short after our attack.
Our forces also were able to destroy a Heavy Weapons Battalion South of Woerth.

Inside Haguenau destroyed 105mm artillery battery defending it.

Day 5: 1/4/1945 Sunny First part followed by Snow in the afternoon (79-81)
This 5th day of battle in this New Year destroyed 2 groups of M4-A3’s and 155 GMC South of Haguenau and seized the rest of the city for the Reich.
(Our 14th 30cm Nebelwerfers were recognized at being able to hitting at a greater distance than other artillery units.)
Destroyed M8 Greyhound near Weyersheim as we are now pressuring this city as well as pressuring Kilstett.
In the air shot down 2 wings P-47B’s and 2 P-51D Mustang’s, B-26 Marauder’s as well as B-25 Mitchell’s as they are feeling the full force of our fly boys. 8)
The enemy responded by knocking out 1 of our Nebelwerfers with their Strategic Bombers.
Their Wolverine’s hit our +3 Att KV-1B knocking out 2 of our machines for a loss of 1 of theirs.
As the snow came down in the afternoon we still moved forward to destroy the group of M-10 Wolverine’s accosting our KV-1B’s.
We moved into Kilstett after ousting the US Battalion defending it.
Near Starsbourg we took out another group of Wolverine’s and M4-A10’s.
We finished the day by destroying the Heavy Weapons Infantry Battalion defending Weyersheim and seized control of it.
The enemy unfortunately found our mobile AA unit and knocked out 10 of their number.

Day 6: 1/5/1945 Sunny last day (86-93)
On the last day started this battle off by shooting down wings of P-47B’s, B-24 Liberator’s, along with B-17G Flying Fortresses.
As we begin to pressure Strasbourg hard as we destroyed 2 57mm M1 battery’s along with 2 Groups of Hellcat’s as we seized control of half of the entire city, even pressuring Marmoutier.
The enemy reeling back but still able to have their artillery damage our Grenadier’s and their Engineer’s reduce our Regular infantry Battalion by an additional 20%.
But with the final hours wrapping up this battle we destroyed US Infantry Battalion and seized Marmoutier for the Decisive.

DECISIVE Victory ending with 19781 in prestige. (93 soft cap)
Took everything except Drulingen which was well defended.

Here are the final words of my fictional commander.
We pulled off another amazing feat and you should all be commended for your ability to seize any objective no matter how great. Unfortunately the attack’s everywhere else along the front our not going our way and we will need to switch to a defensive posture to prevent them from rushing across the Rhine and overwhelming our entire Fatherland.
I am beginning to think this is not going to go the way we need this war to go. Boy I hope I am wrong about this assessment.

Let’s see how I did and how I chose to represent it for this playthrough.
We are the last hold outs this side of the Rhine, before we can retreat back we need to hold these areas a little longer. I think we can not only hold this area but beat back some of these American Dough Boys.

My plan is once we beat back the initial onslaught we push forward from these starting positions to try and take over the remaining enemy held territory on the map.
Who is with me? (Rousing cheers!)
Yes, I knew you still had some fight left in you.

Battle Report:
Turn’s 1 through 2: 01/20/1945 Sunny 1st Day (97-96 Softcap)
HOLD THE LINE! MEN? HOLD THE LINE!!!
Enemy is coming along all sides and as such we had 1 auxiliary group of Hetzer’s blown off the field.
Damage to various units including Fighter nicked sIG38(t)M and M-4 Sherman hit StuG3B guarded by Wurfrahmen -3 me.
Near Selestat destroyed M20 LAC.
In the air shot down 2 P-51B’s, 2 P-47B’s, and 2 B-26 Marauder’s.
In the South East near Neuf – Brisach destroyed M-4 Sherman and M3 Stuart.
In the West around Munster and Olbey destroyed 3 Free French Infantry Battalions.
Brought out Inf North of Orbey and +3 Att KV-1B next to St. Croix-en-Plaine.
Several attacks brought our Flamm’s rolling with Heinz Rondorf down to 5 Strength.
Bomber hit sIG 38(t)M -5 me.
Pressure is intense around Rouffach and Neuf-Brisach is intense.
Our StuG3B nicked and Fighter nicked 2nd SE King Tiger.
Our follow up in the afternoon we shot down P-47B and 2 A-26 Invader’s in the air.

Near Munster in the West South destroyed M-4 Sherman and Wolverine.
North West near Orbey destroyed 2 Free French Battalions

Turns 3 through 4: 12/20/1944 Snow lifts in first couple of hours, but snow returns for mid afternoon, while clouds returned in last hours of the day.

Day 2 Turns 3 and 4: 01/21/1945 Sunny 2nd Day. (97-94)
Attacks continue to wreak havoc on our auxiliary Hetzer units leaving them with only 3 functioning machines.
Our defense in the North East near Selestat really brought destruction on the enemy attack as we weeded out an M#, M4-Sherman and Free French Battalion as well as repaired 1 of our damaged sIG38(t)M.
While in the South East near Neuf-Brisach destroyed Free French Battalion and 75mm HMC M8, while at the same time around Rouffach destroyed M-4 Sherman’s, M-10 Wolverine’s, and Free French Battalion.
In the South West near Munstler destroyed 2 Free French Battalion and 75mm HMC M8’s.
Finally in the North West around Orbey destroyed last Free French Battalion.
Remaining time was spent calling up replacements for 7.5cm PaK and 5 replacements for sIG38(t)M.
Their response in the afternoon of this 2nd day was simple movement around the field, but no attacks as they appear to be running out of Steam.
So I instead responded in the North East near Selestat by destroying 2 Free French Battalions and brought up 7 replacements for our auxiliary Hetzer.
Near Munster destroyed 2 M-4 Sherman’s and seized Anould while destroying 2 more Battalion’s of Free French Battalions.
Near Rouffach destroyed 75mm HMC M8 and free French Battalion as well as 3 Battalions near Neuf-Brisach.

Turns 5 & 6 Day 3 01/22/1945 We are blessed with even more Sun on this third day :D (100 from here on out)
UH-OH, they told us to sit put and wait for further orders, I thought they would set certain areas of the map as Main Objectives and as such we started moving towards these areas, but instead they have changed the objective by stating to abandon our positions and get 20 Core Ground units across the Rhine River. I am too strung out.
In the North East around Selestat we destroyed 2 Free French Battalions and 75mm HMC M8.
In the air shot down B-24 liberator, P-47B, and 2 P-47D’s.
Exited 1st unit which was Flamm’s riding with Heinz Rondorf.
In the South near Mulhouse destroyed M4-A3(E2).
While in the Center destroyed Engineer’s in half-track near Anould.
Also in the West brought out 1st and 2nd Panzer Grenadier just so I could exit 2 more units across the Rhine.
The enemy movement is coming from everywhere as a group of M4-A3(E2) hit our flamm’s riding with Albert Kerscher taking out 4 of those machines.
In the North East near Selestat destroyed M20 LAC and M4-A1 (76).
Shot down B-24 Liberator.
Exited 1st and 2nd Panzer Grenadiers.
Around the Central area near Anould destroyed M4-A3(E2).
In the South near Mulhouse destroyed M4-A1(76) and M20 LAC.
Forecast projects snow so preparing for this expectation on Day 4.

Turn’s 7-8: 4th Day 01/23/1945 Snow in the morning and sun in the afternoon.
A bunch of their units were ambushed thanks to the snow they were blinded by. 8)
Also had an Infantry Battalion hit our T-34/41’s guarded by sIG38(t)M -3 me -8 them.
Auxiliary Hetzer has been destroyed.
And 7.5cm PaK 40 hit by Free French Battalion -2 each.
Also enemy seized Anould.
In the snow blindness of our enemy we repaired 5 of our Flamm’s to accompany Albert Kerscher.
In the Northern Center near Orbey destroyed US Infantry Battalion in halftrack as well as beat back some more units but no other destruction.
Exited KV-1B.
South of Munster destroyed M8-Greyhound.
Near Selestat destroyed Free French Battalion.
In the South of Rouffach near Mulhouse destroyed M20 LAC and Free French in trucks.
Enemy is now coming on strong wreaking havoc on our weakened units and our weakening front line.
They seized airfield near Munster.
Enemy destroyed aux 7.5 PaK 40.
M4-A1(76)w hit our +1 Def Grenadier guarded by sIG 38(t)M defeating 20% of our strength.
M-4 Sherman hit our 27th Regular Infantry Battalion guarded by sIG38(t)M reducing 40% of our Strength.
Last attack was their Hellcat finding our StuG3B knocking out 7 of ours.
With the sun out again our counter response allowed us to destroy an M4-A1(76)w.
Near Rouffach destroyed Engineers in their vulnerable half tracks and another group of M4-A1(76)w’s.
Near Munster destroyed M4 Sherman and seized back primary airfield.
Also destroyed Hellcat near Orbey.
Used the opportunity to exit out T-34/41 and 2 Nebelwerfers.

Turn’s 9-10: 5th Day 01/24/1945 Sunny all day.
Now our lines are really breaking as our core Mobil AA was destroyed along with an auxiliary 7.5cm AT defending Selestat which was then seized.
Our 5th SE Panther was also trapped and reduced to just 1 lone Panther on the battlefield that we will be desperately trying to free and retreat from the field.
Their M-10 Wolverine’s found our +3 Defensive Wurfrahmens which disabled 8 of their strength.
As well as the enemy reducing our StuG3B’s by 8 strength.
The enemy hit our +1 Att 5th Regular inf leaving them with 80% of their remaining strength left.
Our day starts with us trying to exit as much as we can while saving as much as we can from this hell that this map has become.
To do this it was around Selestat that we worked our most magic as we force surrendered the Free French infantry Battalion and bombed out M4-A1(76)’s and 2 M-10 Wolverine’s which allowed us to exit out our 5th SE Panther.
Near Rouffach force surrendered M4A1(76)W as well as destroyed another group of these vehicles and a group of M4 Sherman’s.
Destruction continues as 2 groups of M4 Sherman’s destroyed near Orbey as well as a group of M4-A3(105)’s near Munster which I subsequently abandoned.
I finished the morning by exiting out my Wurfrahmen’s and mobil AA and brought out King Tiger to help defend remaining front lines.
The enemy responded in the afternoon by destroying our 5th Regular Infantry battalion as well as my StuG3B’s and their Fighter and Bomber’s nicked and damaged many units.
The enemy nicked our +1 Att JagdPanther as well as seized Munster and the Primary Airfield.
In an attempt to beat back the enemies initiative we forced the surrender of 2 Free French Infantry Battalions as well as destroyed a group of M4A1(76)w’s we even were able to bomb out another Battalion trapped in their trucks as well as a group of Engineer’s near Rouffach.
In the air shot down P-51 B Mustang and B-25 Mitchell and brought out +1 Spotting Churchill IV and BA-64 just to have more to exit across the Rhine.
Near Orbey destroyed M-8 Greyhound.
Brought out 8 regular representatives for aux 7.5PaK and replacements for the 27th Regular Infantry Battalion and fixed 8 StuG’s.

Turn’s 11-12: 6th Day 01/25/1945 Sunny all day.
Artillery took out 10% of Oleh Dir’s strength.
Bomber took out 2 of our Churchill’s.
And attacks on our aux AT broke 6 of their guns.
On Day 6 we exited even more units.
Near Colmar destroyed M4-A1(76)W’s, M4 Sherman’s, and Free French in trucks.
In the air shot down P-51B Mustang’s, A-26 Invader, and B-17G’s.
Near Neuf-Brisach destroyed M-10 Wolverine’s and Heavy Weapons in Half-Track and even 2 Free French Infantry Battalion’s.
Near Orbey destroyed M8-Greyhound’s and exited Orbey.
It was at this time that our ultra-Defensive 1st SE Panther are now attacking with 2 extra damage than expected. 8)
The enemies afternoon brought more wrath as a Hellcat took out 10% of our 5th Regular Infantry Battalion but lost 50% of their strength.
Artillery guns disabled 1 of our JagdPanther’s and a few other attacks with minor hits.
Enemy seized Orbey.
Near St. Croix-en-Plaine destroyed that pesky M-8 Hellcat.
Near Colmer destroyed 2 groups of M4 Sherman’s as well as 2 Free French Battalion’s.
In Orbey destroyed M-20 LAC.
As the day settled we recognized that with 2 days left we had only 5 remaining units to exit to claim total victory and our sneaky auxiliary Grenadier’s had worked around to begin seizure of Mulhouse.

Turn’s 13-14: 7th Day 01/26/1945 Cloudy all day.
The morning started with trapping a Fighter Wing, but the enemy was still able to destroy a group of our auxiliary AT gun’s and seize control of St. Croix-en-Plaine.
We retaliated by shooting down their P-51D Mustang’s and destroyed a group of M7’s around Rouffach as well as the Free French in Rouffach itself to which we took back control of that city.
Exited out more units, leaving just 2 more for total victory and seized more of Mulhouse.
The enemy responded by hitting our KV-1B’s with 2 hard hitting attacks leaving them with just 3 functioning units.
Our 5th Regular Infantry Battalion in Rouffach was reduced an additional 20% by their attacking tank strength.
Our response aroun Rouffach was to destroy a group of their Free French Battalion’s.
Near Colmar destroyed 2 groups of M4-A3(E2)’s as well as a group of M-10 Wolverine’s, but still abandoned Colmar.
In the air shot down another 2 wings of P-47D’s as well as a wing of P-51D Mustang’s.

Final Morning Hour’s Turn 15: 01/27/1945 Sunny last day
The final hours of this last day the enemy destroyed my auxiliary Grenaider and Bombers hit our Flamm’s with Albert Kerscher knocking out 4 machines.
Bombers hurt our auxiliary 8.8cm AT guns.
5th regular inf were reduced by another 10% while Oleh Dir’’s men reduced by 30% upon seizure of Colmar.
We responded by guaranteeing our decisive as brought over 2 more units across the Rhine.
We destroyed as much of their remaining units as we could and even retook part of Colmar.

Decisive Victory ending with 21427/b]
That felt good to still secure the decisive, but I would definitely play this different were I to play it again.

Here are the final words of my fictional commander.

Well this turned out a lot different than I expected at the start of this expedition. I anticipated, wrongly, that headquarters would force us to go on the assault once initial wave was stopped, but they unexpectedly requested our immediate evacuation to ensure the safety of our remaining forces so that we can fight another day.
Maybe High Command has finally accepted the futility of our continued fighting, because we are running out of places to go. We must hold this Rhine crossing so time for rest is minimal.
Our newest airmen flying with the 39th SE Bf-110G’s were awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class as well as the 1st Class Iron Cross going to our men flying with the 5th He-177A’s and even Uber Rudel and their Bombers awarded Knight’s Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords for their ability to rain death even at this late stage in the war.
On the ground our 7th JagdPanther’s awarded Iron Cross 1st Class as well as our 2nd SE King Tiger’s were awarded the Knight’s Cross with Oak Leaves for their ability to save some of our beleaguered boys that were able to make it to safety on the other side of the Rhine.

Next time will be Ruhr Pocket with 24527 in prestige.
This is getting close to the end.

Let’s see how I did and how I chose to represent it for this playthrough.
The Enemy is crossing the Rhine as we speak…
We now have 2 tasks ahead of us and I am unsure which will be more difficult.
Men around Cologne, dig in tight because you are called to hold the allies back as they throw everything but the kitchen sink at you. We will send aid as able.
Blessings on your defense!
The rest of you push south and break through the Allied lines so we can knock out the supports of Ludendorff Bridge.
We need to prevent the allies from moving too many units across the Rhine before we send the Bridge into the river.
We will hold them here or have to get used to American version of Hamburgers.
Press forward fast before they can get across that bridge.
Move Out!!!

Battle Report: Day 1 March 1st 1945
Day 1 Sunny Hour 1 8am (90%)
Our push South brought about the destruction of 3 recons in their forward section.
Also Bombed out an entire artillery battery of 105mm guns.
Here they come!!!
Enemy tried desperately to break through our defenses of the auxiliary units holding around the forward defenses around Cologne, despite much damage our defenses held based on the artillery present to mitigate damage. May be able to hold only another hour before they break through.
Heavy Weapons Infantry Battalion tried assaulting Jagdpanther -30% them.
Heavy Weapons Infantry Battalion also assaulted our Mobil AA units, but because we were guarded by Wurfrahmen we only lost 1 unit where as they lost almost 50%.

Day 1 Sunny Hour 2 9am (91)
Boys flying with Uber Rudel bombed a whole group of Hellcat’s off the map as well as another group of 105 mm artillery units by our other group of Bombers.
Our boys in the air brought down P-51B Mustang’s over Bastogne and in the Southern push brought down P-57B’s and P-51B Mustang’s.
Our Southern push begins to take shape as we destroyed through 4 Battalions of US Heavy Weapons along with M-4 Sherman in a forest.
Around Cologne was able to eliminate a recon group vulnerably up front in our lines.
The enemy continued to push however our presence in Cologne as they destroyed one of our bunkers.
But the rest of our line held despite much more destruction to our auxiliary line. (Such a sad situation for our brothers at arms.)
Their Bombers also hit our Green King Tiger’s bringing down 2 of them.
M4 Sherman’s hit our 2nd Panzer Grenadier’s taken out 5 of our machines to a loss of 2 of theirs.
Fighter also brought down 2 of our 3rd SE King Tiger’s as well.
I may actually be able to hold Cologne after all as I rethink our defense around that area.

Day 1 Sunny 10am Hour 3 (96)
With my Southern Push destroyed 3 groups of M4 Sherman’s along with a group of M4-A3/E2(76)’s and 2 batteries of 76mm 3 inch M5’s.
The battle in the air finally comes together as we shot down 2 P-47 B’s and 1 wing of P-51 Mustangs and even their B-17G’s.
Around Cologne destroyed US infantry Battalion and 2 groups of M4 US Sherman’s as well as a group of M8 Greyhound’s.
We called up a new group of Grenadier’s to try and help defend Cologne. (93)
Brought up 3 Elite Replacements for 2nd PanzerGrenadier’s.
This bolstering of Cologne did not help as their assault continues to take shape.
They destroyed 2 Battalion’s of Auxiliary Infantry along with Strongpoint as the pressure on Cologne is immense.
In the air they were able to get some nicks and hits but damage was minimal.
The biggest Core attack was the 6 lost tanks rolling with Heinz Rondorf.
Also lost 2 of our JagdPanther’s in the hills when a Battalion of Heavy Weapons Infantry assaulted it, but because we were guarded by the K5 artillery which made them lose 50% of their strength.

Hour 4: Day 1 Sunny 11am (100)
At this point in the day Headquarters have issued us 3 Ar-234B’s to help Bomb the Bridge.
Our Southern push continues to move forward as we destroyed Heavy Weapons Infantry Battalion and 2 Batteries of 76mm 3 Inch M5’s.
2 Groups of M4-A3-E2(76)’s and a group of M-36 Jackson’s were also up on the chopping block.
Final destruction was the battery of 155mm LongTom’s they were not expecting to have assaulted. 8)
So the Southern push is working as we are now pressuring Siegburg and Eitorf.
In the air destroyed a wing of P-51B Mustang’s along with 3 entire formations of B-17G’s.
Still trying to hold onto Cologne as we destroyed Recon, M4/A3-E2’s and a Battalion US Heavy Weapons Infantry Battalion.
The enemy responded by destroying our last Strongpoint near Cologne.

Hour 5: Day 1 Noon Sunny (100)
Around Cologne destroyed a group of M4-A3/E2’s , as well as bombed out a group of M4-A3/E2’s.
In the South we were able to rout out M4 Sherman’s, a battery 155mm Long Tom’s, 76mm 3inch M5 battery.
Around Eitorf removed a battery of 3 inch AA’s from the battlefield.
Also in the South near Siegburg destroyed a battery of 155mm Long Tom’s as well as 76mm 3 inch M5’s.
Bought 7 elite replacements for our StuG3B’s.
Brought out +4 Att Me-262A’s (90 Soft Cap)
The enemy responded by destroying a green Grenadier, auxiliary AT, and auxiliary AA.
The Fort around Cologne was hit as our defense around Cologne is falling apart.
Received notice that the first allied unit has escaped off the board.

Hour 6: Day 1 Cloudy 1pm (95)
In our Southern push we bombed out 57mm M1.
Near Eitorf destroyed 2 57mm M1’s, Engineer battalion, and 3 inch M3 Battery.
We were even able to seize Eitorf itself.
We continue to fight hard around Cologne as we destroyed 2 groups of M-26’s and a group of M4-A3/E2’s.
In the air shot down 2 wings of P-47B’s.
Around Siegburg destroyed 57mm M1 and a group of M36 Jackson.
Repaired 2 of our damaged +2 Att Jagdpanther.
Bomber and Fighter’s hit where they could.
Enemy destroyed Fort in Cologne.
The enemies 76mm 3inch AT Battery self emulated on Heinz Rondorf guarded by Neblelwerfer.
2 76mm 3 inch M5’s reduced green King Tiger to just 4 functioning machines.

Hour 7: Day 1 Sunny 2pm (100)
In the air shot down both wings of P-51B and P-51D Mustangs.
We also destroyed Engineer’s holding Siegburg and seized control of it as we also destroyed 2 76mm 3 inch M5’s as well as group of M-26’s.
Near Eitorf destroyed M-36 Jackson as well as group of M-26’s.
Repair crews continue to repair broken down machines including 1 Flamm rolling with Heinz Rondorf and 3 for sIG 38(t)M.
Near Cologne continued to push back as we destroyed a group of M4-A3/E2’s and even a group of M-4 Sherman’s.
The enemy was shut down as our Bomber Trap was sprung and 1 attack stopped by artillery battery.

Hour 8: Day 1 3pm Sunny (100)
In our Southern push towards Erpel as we were allowed new life as our wonder weapons came into effect as we sent our V-2 Rockets which helped shut down a group of M-36 Jackson’s, 76mm 3 inch M3’s, and even a group of 57mm M1’s which allowed us to start pressuring Erpel itself.
In the air shot down B-24 Liberator and on the ground around Cologne blew up M16MGMC and even destroyed group of M4 Sherman’s.
Brought out +3 Def Henkel to help suppress remaining units around Cologne. (95)
Bomber trap worked as we shot down 8 of their planes. 8)
M-26 ambushed by our 4th SE Tiger which still nicked our tanks but cost them 3 of theirs.
Unfortunately this brought out another M-26 to hit the same Tiger hitting 2 more of our machines while getting 5 of theirs.

Battle Report: Day 2 3/2/1945
Round 9: Day 2 8am Sunny (95)
In the air shot down B-24 Liberator.
Around Cologne took out another M-26 pressing us.
Repaired 1 more replacement for our sIG38(t)M.
Near Erpel destroyed 57mm M1’s.
Full blow out happening as our forces roam freely in the South destroying 2 more groups of M-26’s as well as 2 US Airborne.
The enemy responded with a bunch of movement and well defended attacks.

Turn 10: Day 2 9am Sunny (94)
Around Cologne destroyed M-26’s and M4-A3/E2’s.
In the air brought down B-26 Marauder’s.
Around Erpel destroyed M4 Sherman’s and M8 Greyhound’s.
We were even able to destroy 1 Bridge Support which allowed us to seize Erpel itself.
M4-A3(76)W hit our KV-1C’s guarded by Wurfrahmen which knocked out 3 of our machines for 4 of theirs.
Heavy Weapons Battalion nicked our 27th Regular Infantry Battalion guarded by StuG3B which reduced them by 40%.

Turn 11: Day 2 10am Sunny (97)
Cologne is still being defended as we destroyed another Battalion of US Infantry and a group of M4 Sharman’s.
Southern push around Erpel is really taking shape as we destroyed a group of M4 Shaerman’s, M4-A3(105)’s, and even a group of M4-A3(76)W’s as well as building up pressure around Windhagen as we also eliminated a battery of 57mm M1’s.
The enemy reacted by a bomber nicking our +1 Movement 5th Regular Infantry Battalion as well as a Heavy Weapons Infantry taking out 3 of our StuG3B’s.

They shot down my +2 Att Henkel because I left them unguarded.

DECISIVE Victory ending with 20679 in prestige.

This is not what I expected as we had not taken out the needed Bridge Supports, but I guess I did enough to garner the win.
Oh well I am not going to figure this one out as I had 6 more rounds of fun just taken away from me.

Here are the final words of my fictional commander.
Congratulations Men!
We have stopped their advance and prevented them from full control of their bridge head across the Rhine.
We will continue to hold them where we can as to cross the Rhine is not an option that will be tenable for our forces to continue to maintain.
We have some awards to hand out for our wonderful offensive and defensive brothers for their great efforts and success.
Starting with our Defensive men around Cologne which our 27th Regular Infantry Battalion earning their Iron Cross 2nd Class.
For their help to gain control of the skies as well as their ability to rain death on the enemy our Experimental Do-335A Fighter/Bomber awarded with the Knight’s Cross.
And our Spearhead of our advance our brothers in the 1st SE Panther’s were awarded their Swords on top of their Oak Leaves hanging on their Knight’s Cross.
Well played men, very well played.

Next time will be Wessel with another air assault 0n 3/24/45 and 22979 in prestige to repulse them and 37 units to deploy.

Until next time…Stay Lutheran My Friends. ;)

Let’s see how I did and how I chose to represent it for this playthrough.
Our hold of the Rhine is tenuous at best, the enemy accosts us relentlessly and now I hear reports that their flyboys are landing Paratroopers all throughout the countryside.
The pressure will now come on every side. The longer they last across the Rhine the less of an opportunity that we have of ending this war with a positive conclusion for our people.
We cannot allow another Treaty of Versailles.
C’mon men let’s expunge these yanks from the battlefield.

Battle Report:
Turn’s 1 through 2: 03/24/1945 First Morning Hours (62-68 Softcap)
Enemy airforce is coming on strong on the first part of this morning’s hours.
But thankfully many of them ran into our planes everywhere on the map.
This meant a few planes of ours were shot down the biggest effected was our boys flying with Helmut Lent as 2 wings of the enemy’s planes accosted them sending 10 of their number crashing to the ground, but 3 of them remain to suit up and get out of there.
All over the map various places were seized by the enemy as they begin to pressure Wesel and Hamminkeln.
The retaliation from our fly boys was the most intense of the war as we sent whole entire wings of P-47N’s, P-51D Mustang’s, Spitfire Mk9, 2 Tempest MkV’s, and even 1 group of Paratroopers.
In and around Wesel proper – took out 4 Battalions of Paratroopers.
Destroyed Paratroopers defending Brunen and seized control of it.
It is around Hamminkeln that things are extremely intense as our auxiliary units were able to destroy 1 Battalion of Paratroopers.
Since the fighting there is most intense we brought up some replacements for the AA’s and infantry defending there.
The next morning hour found their various air units hitting various units on the ground where they could and seizing more and more territory as more and more of their Fly Boys land everywhere.
Their planes accosted ground units where able and damaged various units and Battalions on the field.
Pressure is intense around Hanminkeln but we were protected successfully by our Nebelwerfer.
Our seizing control back in the air continues as we shot down wings of P-51D and B Mustang’s, 2 US Airborne, and even 2 Tempest Mk V’s.
Around Wesel we were able to destroy 2 batteries of 57mm M1’s, 2 75mm M1/A1’s, and even wrap up with 3 total US Airborne.
We also destroyed an ambitious Cromwell Mk VII trying to wreak havoc in our back fields.
Around Brunen and Hamminkeln were able to eliminate 1 Paratroop Battalion in each area.

Turns 3 through 4: 3/24/1945 last 2 morning hours . (69-72)
Paratroopers were able to nick our StuG3B’s but cost them 30% of their strength.
We are seeing a lot of movement from the enemy but their attack has already been extensively stymied by our dynamic and vigorous defense. Their time spent finishing their moves was extensive.
In the air shot down last Spitfire Mk9.
Around Wesel destroyed remaining Paratroopers and retook all lost areas.
We have even been able to lead an unexpected assault across the Rhine as we were able to destroy 3 groups of Cromwell MkVII and even a group of Challenger’s.
Also was able to find and shoot down 2 additional airborne units.
Around Brunen and Hamminkeln were able to eliminate 1 Paratroop Battalion in each area.
1st Panzer Grenadier around Brunen found themselves a little overwhelmed by the 25 Pounder’s and a Battalion of Para’s as they sent 4 of our machines into the scrap heap.
2 of their tanks hit our 5th Regular Inf guarded by sIG38 which left us with a skeleton crew left to build our Battalion back from.
Enemy seized Alpen.
Infantry hit 27th Inf in Buderich for a damaging hit for both me as we each lost 40% of our Strength.
We answered in the air by shooting down 2 more Paratroopers.
Our Bombs from our planes were able to take out a group of Challengers and even a Firefly. 8)
Around Buderich we were able to destroy 2 Infantry Battalions and even a Firefly.
Around the Landing Zone near Brunen we were able to destroy 2 Battalions of Paratroopers and seized control of it.
Near Wesel was able to destroy a group of 57mm M1’s.
Finished the morning off around Hamminkeln by destroying 2 Paratroop Battalions.

Turns 5 and 6: 3/24/1945 First 2 Afternoon hours (78-80)
Enemy is scrambling to figure out what is left of their attack force as they moved into position but lacked the courage to attempt any kind of attack.
Near Buderich we bombed out and destroyed 4 British Regular infantry Battalions and even a Heavy Weapons Battalion.
We were also able to eliminate a Churchill Mk7 which was not easy.
We also destroyed 4 groups of Paratrooper’s near Hamminkeln as that accosted city is now stabilizing its position.
Finally in the air shot down 2 Para’s in planes.
Near Landing Zone near Brunen we destroyed a 25 Pounder and backed out for a trap.
Bomber and Planes knocked out 4 of our sIG38(t)M’s, 2 King Tigers, and even 1 JagdTiger.
Artillery barrage nicked our Panther’s.
Their ambitious Firefly’s ran into our Tiger’s in our ambush which knocked out 8 of their machines.
There were a few other minor attacks but nothing worth reporting on.
Our retaliation around their landing zones really begins to take shape as we:
Around Landing Zone North of Brunen destroyed 2 batteries 6 Pounder guns.
Around Landing Zone North of Wesel destroyed 2 more Paratrooper Battalion’s and a battery 75mm M1/A1 as this allowed us to seize control of this Landing Zone.
In the air retaliation reigns as we shot down entire wings of Tempest Mk V’s, Meteor Mk 3’s, and even 2 Spitfire Mk XIV’s as well as bombed out Archer’s and a group of Firefly’s.
Around Buderich destroyed Churchill Mk7 and a group of Bishop’s.
Around Hamminkeln destroyed 3 Paratrooper Battalion’s leaving only 1 left to destroy which allowed us to seize the Main Airfield.

Turns 7 & 8 3/24/1945 last hours of the day (84-91)
2 Bombers ran into our Jet’s. 8) (This shredded them)
Bomber still found and nicked our KV-1C and Fighter Shredded our greenest Fighter as 5 of ours fell to the ground for 6 of theirs.
All of the rest of their attacks were stopped cold.
In the air finished off the remaining enemy air force.
Around Buderich destroyed Firefly and Heavy Weapons Infantry Battalion.
Cleaned up the remainder of the defenders on 2 of the remaining Landing Zones and even eliminated a 25 Pounder around the last Landing Zone.
Even was able to seize back the rest of the city hexes within Hamminkeln.
The last hours of the day was spent with the enemy seizing control of all of Rheinberg, but their only attack was stopped by artillery cover.
This first day of battle found us shooting down last of the Para’s still in the air and bombing out a group of Archer’s.
On the ground outside of Buderich destroyed 3 Regular Infantry Battalion’s and a group of Archer’s.
Around the last Landing Zone destroyed a battery of 6 Pounder’s along with a Battalion of Paratroopers and even beginning to pressure Mehrhoog.

Turns 9 and 10: 2nd Day 03/25/1945 1st Morning Hours. (92-99)
The start of this day began with the enemies recon units being ambushed by our King Tiger’s but this cost us the last of our ammunition. This set up for an aggressive allied force to rush forward in their halftracks to disable 2 of our King Tiger’s.
The enemies Bombers knocked out 2 of our Tiger’s and 1 more of our King Tiger’s.
They are moving an extremely large contingency from Buderich.
But our forces are ready to meet that contingency as around Buderich was able to destroy 3 Heavy Weapons Battalion’s moving up and caught in their Half Tracks as well as the ambitious M8 Greyhound that ran into our King Tiger’s.
In the air shot down 2 wings of P-51D Mustangs and P-47D’s.
Elsewhere near Mehroog we were able to take out a Battalion of Paratrooper’s and their 25 Pounder’s and seized control of Mehroog and its airfield.
The enemy responded with their Bombers and a group of tanks accosting our StuG3B’s knocking out 6 of our machines.
Bombers also nicked 1 of our sIG38(t)M’s.
Also one of their Bombers fell into our trap and was completely shot down.
When it was our turn to respond we shot down the last 2 wings of Bombers fielded by the enemy.
The push around Buderich takes on some real teeth as we destroyed 3 groups of M4-A1’s and even a group of M4-A3/E2’s.

Turn’s 11-12: rest of the morning hours. (Softcap at 100 from here on out)
The enemy continues to push up from Buderich as an M4-A3/E2 hit our Green Infantry Battalion decimating 40% of their number where we were only able to damage 1 of their tanks accosting us.
M-26 hit SE Tiger’s which knocked out 3 of our units for a damage of 5 of theirs.
The rest of the attacks were stopped without further damage to our units.
Our response was to push back as best we could by destroying 1 British Heavy Weapons as well as a Regular US Infantry Battalion.
We also eliminated groups of M8 Greyhounds, M-26’s, and Bishops pushing up from Buderich.
Elsewhere on the battlefield destroyed last 6 Pounder at last Landing Zone to seize control of it as well as Rees.
Artillery battery accosted our JagdPanther’s and knocked 1 of them out.
Heavy Weapons tried hitting what appeared to be a vulnerable 30cm Nebelwerfers but were stopped by the artillery defending it.
Around Buderich destroyed a group of M-26’s M4-A3/E2, and M4-A1’s along with an entire British Battalion’s.
Elsewhere on the battlefield seized Unterbirten.
Bought 5 Elite Replacements for sIG38(t)M.

Turn’s 13-14: First afternoon hours.
Artillery as well as other attacks reduced our 26th Grenadier to just half it’s normal strength.
Unfortunately because we were so brazen in our forward movement our JagdTiger’s were caught in a vulnerable position and the entire unit was wiped out.
Around Buderich continued the assault as we destroyed 3 groups of M4-A3/E2’s, M4-A1’s, and M-7’s, as well as even 2 Heavy Weapons Infantry Battalion’s.
We upgraded the 18th 7.5cm PaK to a JagdTiger and placed them in a defensive position.
This deployment was providential as their M-26’s hit them for -2 each of the units being damaged.
Wolverine’s then hit our T-34/41’s guarded by Nebelwerfers that damaged 4 of each unit in the battle.
Another group of Wolverine’s attacked our KV-1B’s for 3 units damaged on both sides.
When it was our turn to retaliate we brought our full weight to bear around Buderich as we were able to destroy 2 groups of M-10 Wolverine’s, as well as 2 US Infantry Battalion’s and even an entire Battalion of Heavy Weapons Infantry. (These attacks ended up bringing out the best in our newest 18th JagdTiger which was awarded with a +2 Attack Hero.)

Turn’s 15-16: Last hours of the entire battle.
The enemy had 2 of their artillery batteries accost our 2 Wurfrahmen’s.
This is beginning to get wrapped up as we wiped out a group of M-26’s, Bishop’s, and 2 M-7 Priest’s, as well as a Battalion of US Infantry.
This meant that we were able to seize Alpen, Xanten, and Airfield.
This had no response from the enemy.
This led us to finish this a whole day early as we destroyed the last M-26 and M8 Greyhound’s.
We seized control of Rheinberg, Issum and the last Landing Zone for a Decisive Victory.
Near Colmar destroyed 2 groups of M4-A3(E2)’s as well as a group of M-10 Wolverine’s, but still abandoned Colmar.
In the air shot down another 2 wings of P-47D’s as well as a wing of P-51D Mustang’s.

Decisive Victory
Super Easy, this is getting to be kind of a disappointing ending to a great Campaign as I think this was set up for people who were struggling to get to the end of the war. I did lose an important unit however because I got way too ambitious.

Here are the final words of my fictional commander.

For now we have stopped them her.
Well done men.
My hope is to see this war ended in the best possible light for our countrymen, not sure that will happen, but it is what keeps me fighting, and as long as I have you men by my side we can do it.
Our 2nd Panzer Grenadiers as well as our 26th Grenadiers were awarded the Iron Cross 2nd for their ability to help save Wesel as well as liberate the assault on Hamminkeln.

Next time will be the End on the Elbe with 23198 in prestige.

Almost done with these write ups and then it will all be youtube's. ;)

End on the Elbe Guderian Blind
17 Rounds 2 Days of disappointing fighting in the end of April:

Let’s see how I did and how I chose to represent it for this playthrough.
We are here against the Elbe, with our backs literally against the wall. We have the enemy coming at us from the left as well as the enemy coming at us from the right. We have nowhere else to go men, we make a stand here or collapse under the weight of the pressure.
I believe it will be our finest hour, but if it is the latter, know that I have never served with finer men on the battlefield then I have right here before me. It has been my pleasure to command you.

Battle Report: Day 1 April 29th 1945
Day 1 Sunny Hour 1 8am (31%)
Here they come!!!
Enemy seized Ellenburg, and we were able to shoot down a plane with my Fighter trap.
As the initiative switched to my side we were able to try and seize back the sky with our planes as we shot down wings of La-5’s, Yak-3, P-51D’s, as well as B-25 Mitchell’s and IL-2 Sturmovich.
Our 11th 8.8cm Flak was recognized as being skilled at Defense. (+1 Defense 2nd hero added to my +1 Attack 1st hero.)
Around Torgau we found and destroyed 2 US Infantry Battalions trapped in their trucks.

Day 1 Sunny Hour 2 9am (31%)
Enemy’s rush was stymied as their BA-64 was ambushed as well as their M-8 Greyhound’s.
Enemy seized airfield in Ruckersdorf.
Around Torgau destroyed Russian infantry in trucks as well as bombed out 3 M4A1(76)’s as well as 3 Regular infantry units in trucks as well as M-10 Wolverine.
Before the hours was up I destroyed their last M4A1(76)’s moving towards Torgau.
This brought an end to their assault force coming towards Torgau.

Day 1 Sunny 10am Hour 3 (32)
Their assault force is not having any luck coming up against us as their T-34/43 ambushed by King Tiger which totally destroyed them.
On the other side of Torgau destroyed 2 T-34/43’s and Regular Infantry in trucks.
We also seized back Ellenburg.

Hour 4: Day 1 Sunny 11am (32)
The Russians moved up but no attacks were attempted as our forces are too beefed up.
On my side of the initiative we destroyed SU-85’s, BA-64’s, and Regular Infantry.
In the air shot down Yak-3, La-7, Yak-9D, IL-4, and even IL-2M3’s.
(This is crazy how easy this is appearing to be)

Hour 5: Day 1 Noon Sunny (34)
Yak-3 finally felt bold and attacked our +3 Def He-177A -2 each.
SU-85 hit our sdKfz 10/4 -11 me -1 them.
On my turn I shot down Yak-3, IL-2 Sturmovich, as well as IL-4’s.
I also was able to wipe out the last of the Russians near Torgau.

Hour 6: Day 1 Cloudy 1pm (33)
The enemy had nothing brought against us, so my turn was spent bracing for the next wave and brought up replacements for Mobile AA.

Hour 7-9: Day 1 Sunny 2pm-4pm (33)
Nothing happening as we await further boldness from the enemy. But as hour 9 8am Day 2 came a T-34/85 came up to Torgau.

Battle Report: Day 2 4/30/1945
Hour 9: Day 2 8am Sunny (33)
Bombed out KV-85, T-34/85, IS-1, and SU-122 all outside of Torgau.

Turn 10: Day 2 9am Sunny (33)
Enemy seized Grimma as well as pressuring Leipzig.
An enemy SU-122 nicked our sIG38(t)m.
Our round was spent destroying in the air 2 P-47D’s as well as P-47N’s as well as 2 wings of P-51D’s and 2 A-26 Invader’s.
Near Torgau destroyed 2 T-34/85’s, BA-10, and SU-122.

Turn 11: Day 2 10am Sunny (37)
Enemy seized Leipzig and Wurzen.
We destroyed the M4A3E2 near Grimma and shot down B-17G.
I bombed out as many Heavy Weapons infantry in trucks as I could.
Outside of Torgau destroyed BA-10.
The 2nd JagdPanther was recognized at skilled at attacking. (+1 Att)

Turn 12: Day 2 11am Sunny (37)
Conscript tried hitting our StuG3B guarded by 2 artillery’s -8 them.
Here comes the American 2nd Wave coming for Torgau.
Rained down death on as many American units moving up by destroying many tanks, Hellcat’s, and Infantry in trucks wherever I could before they could reach any of our lines.
I also destroyed Russian Conscript.

Turn 13: Day 2 12noon Sunny (37)
Just movement from the enemy while we were able to ambush a Heavy Weapons unit in a truck. (He Gone) ;)
Conscripts again tried to hit my artillery but was stopped by my arty defending it.
When it was my side of the equation I was able to destroy all the remaining forces of the 2nd wave and even seized back Wurzen. (This is turning out to be a pathetic finish to this great game)

Turn 14: Day 2 1pm Sunny (37)
The enemy had no response except some Strategic Bombers coming out.
We spent our round of the battle destroying that B-17G as well as another Conscript.
We seized back part of Liepzig.

Turn 15: Day 2 2pm Sunny (37)
Nothing from the silent enemy.
We spent the day seizing back the airport near Liepzig.

Turn 16: Day 2 3pm Sunny (46)
The enemies 3rd Wave finally comes out towards Grossweitzschen as they were able to destroy 2nd PanzerGrenadier and hit Albert Kerscher knocking out 5 of our machines.
They also hit our T-34/41 for 7 disabled machines.
When it becomes my turn to destroy I destroyed 3 Rangers in half-tracks, an M-36 Jackson, and even their M-26’s.
Brought out 43 Grenadier in Dresden to brace for that final round for the enemy to seize anything. (44)

Turn 17: Day 3 8am Sunny
So the last round came on strong with the enemy finally coming out of everywhere wreaking destruction anywhere they could, but thanks to this being on Guderian I just ended my turn without continuing to fight for an incredibly easy and frankly disappointing last battle of the losing side. :(

DECISIVE Victory ending with 11411 in final prestige.
Unlocked the West 45 Steam Achievement, but not the Complete Grand Campaign Achievement.
(I am, hoping that is still possible, but unsure.)

Here are the final words of my fictional commander.
Men, we have fought well to the bitter end, giving our conquerors quite the black eye as they tried to subjugate us.
Thankfully our leaders have come to their senses as the leader has finally taken his own life and now have sued for peace.

We can put down our arms knowing that they were not taken from us or our dead hands. We have had to bury too many of our brethren in this unfortunately fruitless war. So much lost for absolutely no gain.

I hope our offspring can learn well from this mess and not endeavor to follow in our unfortunate steps.
Thank you for being the exemplary men and valiant soldiers that it was my pleasure to lead.
Dismissed and Godspeed.

Unlike the leader though I am going back to Liege to attempt the winning side, so I can get these typed up so I can start posting my youtube videos.

Just as an idea, have you thought of posting (commented) videos of your replays instead of typing up your notes? :) Don't get me wrong... the notes are cool but the videos are even cooler...

My biggest problem to keep me from doing this is that when I am home i want to play, not rewatch my playthrough. (sorry I find that incredibly boring.)

However my broadcast of Dunkirk 45 was a true joy to play and broadcast. That scenario had so much of what I love about this game and the various ways to solve these scenarios.

I have rewatched my playthrough on that one as it was so much fun and I felt I captured that joy rather well.

Here is a sneak peek at one of the parts:

Enjoy them all

We are continuing this assault. We need to take the success of eliminating the salient around Bastogne into rushing forward deep into the enemy lines. I am not going to lie to you.
We are short on supplies and have our backs againts the wall.
We either succeed in our push this winter or this whole thing collapses at our feet.
With that said we will harvest the supplies found behind the enemy lines and bring everything we got in reserve to move our forward lines forward. This will not be easy, but I have been constantly astounded at your ability to seize victory out of the jaws of defeat. Now let’s continue this winter offensive to bring our enemies to their knees.

DECISIVE Victory ending with 21912 in prestige. (100 soft cap)
Took everything except Heers itself and last British Inf. (Much easier than I figured, I know I lost a couple of units, but that happens when playing blind and rushing the field.)

Here are the final words of my fictional commander.
You have done it! Success is the only way forward, as moving back is no longer an option, we have to continue this offensive as we are very close to achieving a repeat of the infamous Sichelschnitt of 1940. We are reliving the glory days.
Rush forward to our ultimate goal of Antwerp. If we seize this prize we will garner much in needed supplies and prestige to allow a proper rest and refit until we are called up again.
Forward to victory or death!
