Really cool bug.... time going backwards!

Post by metolius »

OK, this one is pretty cool. I've actually seen it once before, a couple of years ago, but I thought maybe it was just a quirk with the dates.

So, what happens is this:
1. We get to turn 17 – July 17, 1940. Both sides play (PBEM).
2. When I open the next turn, it is one turn 16, and the date is July 6, 1940. (!)
3. I play the turn, not really noticing. Morris, however, DOES notice.
4. He replays the previous turn (17) and NOW it looks like it is turn 18, Aug 6, 1940.

I'd post screen shots, but they would give away my (very pitiful) strategies.

Anybody else seen this?

Yes. It's been there since the vanilla game and we haven't found a reason to why this is happening. It's completely random and impossible to recreate. So fixing the bug is worse than finding a needle in the haystack.

Yes,I had met it twice in Russia in 1941 during Babarrosa. The only way is to ask Allies player to replay the last turn .

I guess we'll know who to send for if the world really does end in a week's time. :)
In spite of the Final Fantasy character it's pronounced sao-win after the Irish pagan god of death. I'm not a pagan but we're on a wargames website so I thought it fitting.
