Debugging on a PC: How to Run the GS Beta from a DOS Window

Post by rkr1958 »

1 - 5. Open up a DOS window

6 - 8. Change directory to CEAW - GS main directory

9. Launch CEAW - GS via command line using the command:

jre\bin\java.exe -Xss20m -Xms400m -Xmx800m -classpath . CEAW 14100

10. Capture any error messages. The DOS window will stay up even when you quit CEAW -GS or even when CEAW - GS returns to O/S.

So....should we do this everytime we play? I assume I can't go back and see what happened in my game where German partisans appeared in Canada?

Running from the DOS console is most helpful when the game crashes or hangs. It won't provide information on an unusual event that doesn't crash the game. So in your case I'm not sure it would provide any more information than you already have.
