Re-CAPTCHA = Biometric Privacy Invasion Nuisance Pest

Post by uneducated »

Please replace Re-CAPTCHA as a means of validating humanity.

The pixels clicked are used to form a biometric fingerprint and sent to big-data. Also, it is covertly used to collect IQ data based on problem solving and response speed, which in the hands of big-data is unethical.

Please Slitherine, recognize this intrusive measure and try something else. Just a small math question does a lot.

Hi, zakblood! You are dedicated, working on Easter Monday!

Here is an article addressing some of the privacy concerns regarding re-CAPTCHA:

https://www.businessinsider.com.au/goog ... ch-2015-2/

I urge you to reconsider.

I'm sorry but we don't intend to remove the captcha. It's the first barrier against bots.

Have Slitherine established a "No bots unless authorised" policy for use on the forum? If a bot is granted permission, it ought to be clearly indicated each time.

Though the issue has already been addressed, I thought I would keep interested people updated with the latest from another forum, 4chan, where CAPTCHA has been used (by Googlers I think) to destroy anonymity:
