sadly Scole has not made his turn or sent a message for 11 days now and he surrendered in our other game.
I really hope that no real life issues hindered him - but I also do not want to wait any longer. Scole please send a message or your turn.

Greetings...
Thanks for the update!

Let's hope all is well with Scole!

Scole is ok, but has real life stress. So is not able to finish our last game.

I don't think I would have been able to take another flag. So it was:

Germans (Scole) 3 - French (dickesKind) 1

I hope to meet Scole again in another game or tourney.

Pete surprised my sleeping Germans with an early morning en masse attack through the rhubarb fields towards Janssen's Bee Farm.
Our commanders were incompetent to stop the daring French, and our 150MM guns could never find their marks.

Well played, congrats on the coveted 5th place finish!

Those were some intense battles! In one game JCB's Somua deaked my men like they were pylons and snagged a flag on the last turn. In the other game he very nearly won with a massive human wave. In both games tanks were popping like champagne on new year's eve. He also kept me chuckling with his commentary. Thanks for the epic finale and good luck to the others! My soldiers will now RIP or go home if they were lucky ;)

Sounds like great games. After comments like these I wish BA would have replay-function that would allow you to watch a whole game.

Dickeskind, thanks for the update. I've heard nothing from Wegeberg or Random for some time. I guess they are busy offline, and therefore assume they don't have time playing the fourth map.

I hope any games still in progress could be finished before the end of 2014 to allow us to end this tournament.
Thanks everyone for taking part in this event!

Hi P-A.

best75 and I are currently at about turn 3. Game rate is fairly slow, but then it is a busy time of year. We will do our best to finish, but understand if you need to finalise the tournament before we can.

Thanks for organising - it has been a lot of fun.

Hi Rob,

Thanks for the update. I see no problem for you to play in your own pace to end your game. I know this is a busy time of year, that's why I aimed to have the tournament finalised before Christmas

Hello All
Here are the results of the tournament final between Zarevic and I:
After a tremendous fight in both battles finally with many losses and uncertain outcomes during more than 3/4 of the turns, at last we reach the end with the following score in flags:

Zarevic (germans) 0 - Avisnigra (french) 4
Avisnigra (germans) 4 - Zarevic (french) 0

Despite this figures, I must tell this outcome doesn't make real justice to the great way of playing of Zarevic, who was during the first half of both games really close to the victory, specially with the german side. Nevertheless my french 75 guns make a good last stand in the final part of the game and could dislodge the attackers and thus, recover the lost flags in the middle of the mess generated, with both sides exhausted.

In the end, after playing Poucet several times I think this battle is almost impossible to win for french side in any other way than fighting in defensive mode and only if germans have been severely beaten in their onslaught. Trying to defy germans in an offensive deployements is a good way to put oneself near to disaster, and I was very close to be in that in this final...

Many thanks to Cavehobbit for this fantastic tournement, to Glenghiscan for encouraging me to take part in it, and specially to Zarevic for this great two final games.

Regards!

R.

Once again, thanks everyone who took part in this tournament.

For future tournaments I'm waiting to hear from Brummbar if he'll be organising a WWI tourney. Or maybe Jcb have plans for something interesting
Then with GL88s being back and speaking of a manyplayer campaign like GJS'44, I'm not sure what will be the next event. I got an idea for something, but it's still to early for details...

Thanks to every player in this tournament. I had a lot of fun and nail-biting turns.
I look forward to play in another tourney (maybe even BA2?) and wish everyone a happy new year.

Thx hogbar, we've made very violent assaults on the farm, it was very good games.
I think so thats it s a very hard map for a 3 or 4 flags french victory. French must mainly defend and win on units losses. Not easy to attack.

I think you are right, Poucet is easier as German. Many maps are not perfectly balanced, but that's I choose to have mirror games.
