Very nice of you Captain!! Wish you more luck in the next tournament. By the way, would be great if we get your "Bridge too far" suggestion rolling
So, for those of us still standing....are we continuing with Desert Rats Beta 2 then?
If that is so, Hidde, please feel free to set up games and send me the passwords at your convenience

Heya,
are we doing Desert rats B2?
Hidde and I already in the middle of the desert, yeah
One game over - second game may have a handful of turns left - should be finished soon. Commander Sleet is definitely through to the final - he gave me a good whupping in both! Well fought Sir.
2 very tough battles, and it was going either way. Artillery and air attacks did some good work on both sides.
My Yanks swung around wide with forces (2 tanks, a few 1/2tracks loaded with infantry and scouts) which seemed to work as the map is quite large.. I had some great luck, the KingTiger was rolling down the opposition in the streets of the city when I able to get a rear shot on the massive killer. Lucky.. a bounce on the 1st shot.. was waiting for the great barrel to come around but it did not and then boom!
My tanks brewed up and had to flee a few times when I saw 2 Panthers working together! Later on some nice side shots were able to brew up the Panthers when they were separated, only after they did excellent damage as they always do by taking out the M36s and Hellcats. The quantity won over quality in armour battles and the Yanks pulled it out of the hat this time.
My Germans went wide as well, along the left flank, Puma, 1/2 tracks loaded with grenadiers, Panther, Marder and StuG - did well but came up against more resistance on the right. In the end, the KingTiger and Panthers all with with StuGs and grenadiers in support, were able to win the day. Heavy losses in infantry as my opponent used his troops in the urban rubble to deadly effect. Even to the very end, the US airborne and infantry fought ferociously. but at the dusk the Germans had control of the city, Iron Crosses all around.
The dead on both sides made the battles Pyrrhic victories.
Great sport and more, thanks for the games Acererak.
