Re: Challenges and results – Dark Ages, season 10
rexhurley (Gepids) 39/47 bt lydniad (Dalamis) 44/41
In a game dominated by a massive plantation it was bluff followed by counter bluff as we groped around in the dark looking for each other. Thanks for the game mate.
Anyone in Div C I have NOT played there are still challenges available PW "Gepids" p;lease pick them up so we can finish this.
Cheers Rex

Hi Turk that's most unlike Solly I sincerely hope nothing serious has happened to him in real life but I suspect it may have as this behaviour is most unusual for him.Turk1964 wrote:Gday Solly

Re: Challenges and results – Dark Ages, season 10
I put 4 challenges for Lydianed, Supervark, Aristides and Rexhurley.
Pass crusaders
Pass crusaders
Division B
Londo (Bedouin Hamdanid of Aleppo) 37/49 vs Jonah75 (Khurasanian Dynasties - Saminids) 37/35
This was shaping up as a big win for Jonah, until his infantry centre unexpectedly collapsed. A whole line of armoured HF went in one turn from "steady" to "running for the hills". Must have been a wind sent by Allah to help me, blowing sand in the enemy's faces!
It would still have been a close game, except that I had the BP advantage of having large numbers of lazy trash "levy foot" hanging around the camp -- which somehow provides a huge morale bonus to the troops who are actually doing the fighting (50% more BPs than Jonah).

Div C rexhurley (Gepids aka the good guys!) 31/47 bt the evil Lombards of Epos 39/37
Overcoming adversity and impetuous attacks by my lancers and archers refusing to charge open rear's of lombard knights we came out victorious against the dark intentions of the evil Epos

Division B Result
Turk1964(Ghaznivad) 30/35 vs Jonah75 (Saminids) 38/38
A very interesting battle fought out on the open plains, which suited the Ghazis lightly better than the mainly infantry army of the Saminids. Both sides sought to outfox the other with their excellent Cavalry and the Infantry slogged it out hammer and tongs .This could really have gone either way and the Ghazis just managed to hold of the Samis, who were making up ground rapidly. Thanks for a fantastic game
Cheers Turk

Div C Result
Lydianed (Buyids) 25/36 vs MatsuHiroshi (Early Crusader) 48/43
Crusaders struggled against Dailami in superior positions. Buyids took advantage of a split deployment of crusader knights and defeated them one at a time. Thanks for the game.

Division B
Londo (Bedouin Hamdanid of Aleppo) 12/51 vs Turk1964 (Ghaznavid) 37/35
Londo 14/49 vs Ironclad (Fatimid Egyptian E) 43/38
That's it for me in this Division -- all my games are played. I had a dreadful couple of games at the start, but the Bedouins came through for me in the end.
Thanks to all my opponents and to the organisers!

Re: Challenges and results – Dark Ages, season 10
rexhurley (Gepids) 36/47 bt Supervark (Crusaders) 44/43 in a hard grafted win after i killed or he fled with his right flank came the assault ona five tier hill in a corner against def spear supported by bow and xbow, highlights Supervark evading with knights only to be caught in the arse with bow and not only once i might add!.
Thanks for the game mate cheers Rex
One more to go Aristides, come on mate you picked up the game three weeks ago its now July lets play

Division A
Lysimachos (Slavs) 27/45 ianiow (Hamdanids) 65/65
The Slavs quickly prevailed against an unusual composition of the Hamdanid army entirely made of mounted AV cavalry lancers that melted away at first impact.
Quite a strange game, to be honest, where Ian could really do nothing other than watch the catastrophe unfolding on the battlefield.
