Japanese

Post by timmy1 »

Playing around with my Japanese for FoGR, I took a look at Japanese 1573 (will do 1551 - 1591) as used by Don Avis which won Warfare 2012

1 x IC, 2 x TC, 1xAlly TC
1 Hatamoto Foot Guards Dt Foot Hvy Armd Elite Spear Spear 4
2 Foot Samurai (A) Warriors Armoured Superior Spear Spear 6
3 Foot Samurai Warriors Hvy Armd Superior Spear Spear 6
4 Foot Samurai Warriors Hvy Armd Superior Spear Spear 6
5 Foot Samurai Warriors Hvy Armd Superior Spear Spear 6
6 Ashigaru withYari Warriors Armoured Average Spear Spear 8
7 Ashigaru withYari Warriors Armoured Average Spear Spear 8
8 Ashigaru withYari (A) Warriors Armoured Average Spear Spear 6
9 Ashigaru with Naginata Warriors Unarmoured Average Hvy W Hvy W 8
10 Ashigaru with Yumi Warriors Armoured Average Bow 8
11 Ashigaru with Yumi Warriors Armoured Average Bow 8
12 Mtd Samurai with yari (A) Cavalry Armoured Superior Lt Lance Sword 4
13 Mtd Samurai with yari Cavalry Armoured Superior Lt Lance Sword 4

I don't currently have enough Foot Samurai for this combination but I do have enough for the list minimum. At 800 points if I take out unit 5 I will have 55 points left. Options from the figures I have are either:

- Take a BG of 6 Ronin, Warriors, Unarmoured, Superior, Swordsmen, or
- take a BG of 2 Hatamoto horse guards, Cavalry, HA, Elite, Lt Lance, Sword and upgrade the AG TC to a Sub TC.

Which would the panel advise (at later dates I have enough figures make 1000 points but not sure Medium Foot is quite what I want from this army...)?
