Couple of Q's
1] At Badcon Medium and Heavy Artillery had to set up in the first deployment. Is that included in the "rules for the competition will be as used recently at BADCON"?
2] Last year there was extra depth to the deployment zones
• light troops will deploy up to 21" and battle troops 16" in from the owning players the base line.
• light and medium artillery can deploy up to 18" in from the base line.
• Unlimbered heavy artillery would still only be able to deploy at 15".
Is that to be repeated?

Hi Tom,

Many thanks for posting the competition 'rules; and when the army list need to be in. Unfortunately due to computer failure I no longer have your email address and I don't have the BADCON rules. Any chance you could post them as a link or attachment on here please?

Many thanks

David

On the assumption that what is meant by the Badcon rules are the FoG:R updates, they can be found via the BHGS site here - http://www.bhgs.org.uk/fogr-tournament-rules.html

Many thanks, that clears up a lot of ambiguity as I have several previous versions and links to previous version

Cheers

Dear all,

In reply to David and Nik - yes the link given here by Nik is the one everyone should use.

In reply to Stephen - yes we are going with the Badcon rules in toto. Our tables are a bit deep so (to save me having to put out lots of masking tape) we propose to ask everyone to measure deployment distances as per rules but from the centre.

My thinking on this is that I have the greatest difficulty remembering different sets of numbers so we should all standardize in this way. I am sure we shall have no difficulty getting plenty of finished games in the time available without needing to start off closer than normal.

Dear all,
a small amendment to the ECW competition rules for April 29th.

We have been discussing the likelihood of getting quite a few draws given the limited time available. Accordingly, as last year, we have decided to allow that armies can deploy 6" closer together as follows.

For information, but most of you will recall, our tables are 54" deep rather than the norm of 48".
If measuring from the centre then the light troops furthest forward deployment distance is 3" and the battle troops furthest forward deployment distance is 8"
If measuring from the table long edge then the light troops furthest forward deployment distance is 24" and the battle troops furthest forward deployment distance is 19"
If measuring from the long edge of a 48" deep mat then the light troops furthest forward deployment distance is 21" and the battle troops furthest forward deployment distance is 16"

Regards
Tom

Which version of the Army Points generator are we using? The last version I have seen is BETA 8.

Dear all,

time marches on.

I should be grateful to start getting army lists please. So far we seem to have 16 coming - making for a good comp. But more welcome!

Hi all,

Sorry to say I won't be able to make this now as I am away this weekend. Sorry to miss it as it is always great fun and I really like the theme.

Have fun all!

Dear all

there are still some army lists missing. Might have to be penalties for late lists! Club agreed tonight that these should be deemed loss of first two initiative rolls (i.e. those for game 1) - so hurry up please. Extended deadline is Friday 20th at 23:59 (you can tell I teach for a living).

Hi Tom,

In an earlier post on this thread the list deadline was given as 22nd April?

regards Dene

As Tom says he teaches that is why he can not remember what he said earlier.

So we will go with 22nd but if late lose both initiative roles for first game.

Also we will be using some very nice new 6x4 cloths owned by players in the club (and Aussie Simon), we do not want these to be stained.

So if you put a coffee or tea mug on a cloth it will be a 10pt automatic deduction from your score.
Marking a cloth with a tea or coffee ring will automatically reduce your score to 0 for the competition. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!

The following have not sent in an army list

David Rowland
Dave Hutchby
Nik Gaukroger

So they will lose the 2 initiative rolls for their first game.

To avoid losing it for the second game as well the list needs to be with Tom by Wednesday. (t.elsworth@btopenworld.com).

If anyone knows or sees these three please ask them to get in touch as even emails have so far not had a response.

So Tom got Patrick's and my army lists then?

Did you mean David Eggleston (who sometimes uses "David of Rowland" for his monicker)? If so, I'll email him - in fact, I'll do it anyway in case it is him.
