Alas, looks like I will not be able to offer myself as the 12th man for this competition!

Link to a Zip file of the latest Update Docs - though attendees might find it useful.

I have suggested that unless anything egregious is spotted these are the ones to be used.

What time do things start on the Saturday?

Haven't spotted anything and as I'll have to be travelling from Essex it'd be good to know just how early I have to set off

Last year the details were: -
TIME: 8.30 - 9.00 - Registration time on Saturday
Games will be:
Saturday: 9.30 - 1.00 and 2.00 - 5.30
Sunday: 9.00 - 12.30 and 1.30 - 5.00

I have no reason to believe that this year would not be similar

Hummm ...

3 Japanese - an obvious choice.

3 Indonesian - Johor probably because they can have Colonial Dutch allies.

2 Colonial Dutch - who can have Johor allies; I see a trend ...

2 Maratha - or Martha and the Muffins as they shall now be known as ...

1 Mughal - chosen because of figures available

I would go with 11 pts for a bye as that would be half the average total score which I suspect will be 22 due to the large armies meaning more draws than wins

Maratha are not that bad, good cavalry although unarmoured, and their infantry although Average unarmoured will give an extra - to any other infantry who loses to them in the open, plus there could be shed loads of them, plus 4-5 really shooty units 6-8 musketeers in each unit and as many bowmen as you need.

Dutch could have Sinhalese allies 6 elephants, unit of Lt Spear warriors and a unit of poor bowman, an 8, in one line supports 2 feet of the Dutch army. Therefore 2 units is the 4 ft and they don't care about most terrain.

David Elks and Nigel Phillips have asked if the can partner each other rather than play singles. I have agree as this balances the numbers and every player now gets to play 3 games t=rather than having a bye. David and Nigel will be using Nigel's Colonial Dutch army.
The new 1st round draw is:-

Godendag FOG R 2018
FOG R: Round 1 Draw
Table Player 1 Club Pos Player 2 Club Pos
1 004 Ian Wilson v 009 Simon Green Burton
2 006 Ben Jones Oxford v 003 Keith Spedding October
3 001 Bruce Rollett Oxford v 007 Lynnette Maxim Burton
4 002 Ray Boyles October v 010 David Elks/Nigel Phillips Isle of Wight
5 005 Dene Green Burton v 008 Nik Gaukroger Derby
