Warfare 18/19 November 2017
G'day,
Just a friendly reminder, there will be a FoGR comp at Warfare.
Tim Childs has warned us that as we only have four players confirmed as of the 14/8/2017, we are at risk of it being cancelled.
So, if you are interested, book a ticket ASAP.
Theme is
Theme: Regnans in Exelcis - 15mm, 800points, 6’x4’-ish tables
Armies and the options chosen must be dated before 1570. No Battle Troops with Musket, Musket*, Salvo or Impact Pistol may be used.
The list-checker will be Tim Child. See e-mail above for contact details, or alternatively lists can be sent by post to:-
Tim Child (Warfare), 6 Cotswold Close, Maidenhead, Berkshire, U.K. SL6 1XF
(If sending lists by post, please send them early, as it takes longer to arrive and reply!)
The list submitted must not exceed the points specified and be from one of the official FOG:R list-books as permitted by the Theme.
Army lists must specify the number and size of battle groups and their order of march for deployment, and the number and type of commanders chosen. They should also include the territory list for the army. Once an army list has been submitted it may not be changed or altered other than to correct any errors. Players may only correct their errors by making reasonable changes to their list. It is not allowed to completely re-write the list, and the list checkers decision on this is final.
The competition is single list format. Any incorrect list discovered after a game has commenced (after set up dice have been
rolled) must be corrected prior to deployment if spotted in time, and fully corrected in any case before the next match.
Army lists must be submitted for checking in advance and must be received by Tim not later than 28 October 2017.
Tournament Schedule:
Saturday
Check-in: 8.30 am to 9.15 am (The earlier everyone gets here, the earlier we can get through check-in and “let the games
begin”)
Round 1: 9.30 am to 12.45 pm
Lunch: 12.45 pm to 1.45 pm (meals are available from the café on site, but there can be long waits – if possible, find
someone to take an order for you)
Round 2: 1.45 pm to 5.00 pm
Sunday
Round 3: 9.00 am to 12.15 pm (n.b. earlier start-time than Saturday)
Lunch: 12.15 pm to 1.15 pm
Round 4: 1.15 pm to 4.30 pm
Prizegiving: As soon as we can work it out!
Tables will be numbered and the draw for the next round will be published as soon as we can. Once they know their
opponent, players can always commence games earlier by mutual consent.
House Rules:
i. The scoring system will be the standard FOG 0-25 tournament system.
ii. A modified Swiss Chess system will operate throughout the competition. Players may not play against fellow club
players in the first 2 rounds, nor players whom they have played in earlier rounds, nor against any relatives in the
first degree of consanguinity. Thus an entrant cannot be matched against his/her spouse, parent, brother, sister,
and/or child (unless both entrants specifically inform us beforehand that you would like to have this rule disapplied
to yourselves).
iii. Table size: The tables will be approximately 6' x 4' (the tables may be slightly narrower than 6’ due to the width
of the marking tape, and will be played to the width of the cloths provided unless both players agree prior to the
start of the game to use only 4’ depth). Players must supply their own terrain pieces. These must be to an
acceptable standard, and umpires will have the discretion to remove unsightly items. In addition all figures must
be representative and painted and based to an acceptable standard

Simon - The competition rules pack, with the email for Tim, is here:-
https://onedrive.live.com/?authkey=%21A ... 55&o=OneUp
I shall be entering, as will Patrick, which takes us up to 6. Has Tim indicated what the lowest viable number is?
Do we know which version of the rules/lists will apply?

Re: Warfare 18/19 November 2017
Tim has said 8 people in the minimum to get the comp rolling.
In regards to the rules version, I don't know. I'll ask him, please hold caller.
At first glance, I'd reckon we'd use the v1.9 rules we played at Britcon. The only change to what has been debated on the forums is the points cost for mounted (no change)
the only points cost change was for Elephants

I've already mailed Tim on this and suggested we go with what was used at Britcon plus the latest points revision which will be the same as Derby.

I think a keil of elephants would be difficult to control, but potentially devastating - not least for the table legs.

And it would definitely need a complex move test to turn 90 degrees.

Shouldn't "Regnans in Excelsis" be from 1570 (possibly up to its first suspension in 1580), rather than before?

Re: Warfare 18/19 November 2017
OK folks, I have been asked by Tim Childs to confirm that we will be using the same FoG:R updates as were used at Britcon.
These can be found here - http://www.bhgs.org.uk/uploads/9/3/2/3/ ... 072017.pdf
For points values however we will use the latest proposal:
Kevin will be the list checker so please send your lists to him - Kevinj@btinternet.com
Additionally as mentioned in my post above there are 2 new places available for FoG:R at Warfare so if you know anyone who is interested please get them to sign up ASAP. These places will not be held open forever, and if not taken soon(ish) will be reallocated to another competition.

they look scary!
Re: Warfare 18/19 November 2017
Am I missing something or is the army list generator incorrect? It shows a sup armoured det foot pike as 10pts but the amendments show it as 9pts, same with elite pikes, they seem to be 1point more than the amendments show them to be?
