Impact

Post by spotteddog »

Hi

Does a 6 pack pike and shot battle group who's flanking two shot elements are hit on the flank by different enemy elements turn both and fight 4 dice versus 4 dice at 5s and 3s? What happens in melee as they cant conform in a legal way? Fight till they can?

Here's how I'd do it:

Turn the rear base of the P&S to show the flank contact. As 2 bases have contacted 2 bases all fight. Assuming they've been hit by battle troops the P&S will be disrupted so fight 3 dice at -- vs 4 at ++.
Assuming the P&S survives (and is not in contact to it's front) turn the whole BG to the flank so it becomes a column facing the impact.
The chargers then conform (assuming there's room), one of the BGs will line up with the new front and the other will become an overlap.
Feed in any extra bases as normal.

This is the one case where P&S are allowed a non-standard formation. So you can expand to a two-wide block as a step towards returning to a legal formation.
