Hi. I plan to use Blender as my tool.
I want to know how to open the existing 3d files in blender and how to repackage them. I am aware there is a script but how to exactly use them?

Some of the modders can give more help on Blender etc, but I can tell you that you cannot open the existing files in Blender, they are exported game assets.

Ah. That what I thought. I can create 3d stuff and export from blender to the game but not the other way around. Am I right?
I found a few blender threads stistickied above.

Re: first time 3D modeling help.
Correct. The ingame assets are optimised for realtime loading and use, rather than the more general formats used by modelling software.

What's the ideal file size / dimensions for these files? Or does the blender exporter handle it during the conversion?
Maybe do trial and error.

Hmmm. Not sure about blender. The tiles in the engine are 32x32 game units.

Re: first time 3D modeling help.
Any 3d experts around that I can directly deal with?
I have learned basic blender usage and UV texturing.
I'm just not sure about scale.
How large should the 3d object be and should the textures be made 256×256 at the onset or converted later. Would be nice if I have the actual BA or Pike and Shot assets to play with in Blender.

Re: first time 3D modeling help.
We don't use blender internally, but if it can import the 3DS models that might work

No worries Pip. I have secured Blender samples from the Pike and Shot devs. Thanks for the help.
