Helsinki...?
Helsinki, What's story with Helsinki.? If captured it does not trigger an Event I can not find a lua file that covers capturing a Capital City (of which there are several not covered by Events) that does not result in a NM loss/gain. If I have missed something, Please let me know. If Helsinki is held by CP: Is it still possible to have a Finland Revolution, ect..?
Re: Helsinki...?
Not every capital has it's own specific event, only a certain few got one. Helsinki is not of one those.
In vanilla CTGW the Finland War event will fire exactly 23 turns after the February Revolution, no matter who controls Helsinki.
Don't forget that February Revolution and October Revolution have switched places in vanilla CTGW.

Re: Helsinki...?
Switched places? I remember that Kirk23 made the change in the February Revolution 1917 from a negative NM to a positive NM (in this case a +20 NM) and read in the lua where the October Revolution 1917: If Russia is at 40 NM or less it triggers a -40 NM. Are you saying that October comes before February? Read where nehi had triggered Revolutions in 1915 a couple of times, not sure if he was in SP or MP during those accounts. Also in previous matches where CP does not see the February Event, however have seen the October Event a few times (both as a winner and a loser). If somebody programmed this in reverse , they really screwed up. To get back to Helsinki: Should Helsinki be treated like a standard city (no change to NM) except that in this case it is a Capital City? It's turn 33 and a CP garrison has just disembarked right next to an unoccupied Helsinki (almost a guaranteed capture next turn, unless there is a unforeseen outcome). Likely spies are reading this post and reporting to their superiors.

Re: Helsinki...?
You got an October Event in January 1915...!!!!! Question: Did you ever see the February Event first? What did you do to cause such a Russian NM loss? OHhhhh..! I think I know the answer: You took France first....
I can't believe you had a match last to 1917..!!!!

Re: Helsinki...?
Vanilla CTGW did not get the Russian revolutions right.
I've already explained it en detail before but can't find the right link right now.

Re: Helsinki...?
Thought the link you posted earlier http://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewtop ... 02&t=71827 was quite informative the list of posters had a familiar ring to it..
Re: Helsinki...?
Yes, but that link ends in an argument between nehi and me again bickering about "what I feel is happening" and "what the script says".

Re: Helsinki...?
Robotron, On a side note: I would not change my data to activate February Rev. for fear it would corrupt a match that does not have the same change in data.
Re: Helsinki...?
Both players ideally should use the same scripts before the MP match starts.
We've tried changing the scripts during ongoing matches of MP-playtesting for Potzblitz with limited success.

Re: Helsinki...?
Thanks, but I already did.
10 votes (3 by myself).
Guess I'll find something else to waste my time with.
Last week I took on Gary Grigsby's War in the East for a change in scenario and found it quite promising.

Re: Helsinki...?
My dream game would be: A late version of The American Civil War by GG in the wite style, ORrrrrrr …….Commander The Civil War (CTCW)…….
Re: Helsinki...?
I've had only one match go the distance in a earlier version of CTGW 1914. Most matches are over between 1915 -1916, some make it to 1917 mostly cause I have not given up the fight till the bitter end. To me there is alot to be said on how to survive the unthinkable. In your case: It's a matter of out-foxing the fox, which I think would be rare, or for you or your opponent to hold out till 1917. That's a game I would like to watch..! There's so many times I wished that I could just sit in as an observer to an on-going match.
Re: Helsinki...?
sometimes i believe u see what u want and r missing anything else
so once more
"ive played all scenarios"
"(starting in) 1916 went to early 1917"
"1917, definitely not 1915"
