Re: Growth and population concerns
Well, the problem with that is the growth model itself doesn't work overly well, either. As you point out there is virtually no reason to expand - that tends to be a problem in 4x games and it is the case for Pandora as well. If you're playing on a huge, large or even medium map you could easily hav...

Re: Multiplayer
Hey guys! I've setup a Steam Group for Pandora now - yes, it's no Steam game but most of you probably have it installed anyway and the community features are rather excellent. Please join this group if you are interested in Pandora MP. It will make it much easier for us all to schedule games! http:/...

Re: Diplomacy Feedback
Rather than basing it on somewhat obscure faction fluff I'd rather see diplomacy being based on who is winning the game. If Pandora successfully employs such a sensible system it will have done what certain mentionable other 4Xs (Civ V says hi!) has failed to do, creating a game where the tension is...

Re: Diplomacy Feedback
^supporting what Gyver says: Diplomacy is too easy. Something seems to not be working right. In my current game on Medium difficulty I'm 'Generous' with everybody, including even Divine Ascension. I have zero military but it doesn't matter because everybody's friendly. All the AIs are on friendly te...

Re: Morale question (help)
Haven't tried a 4 four city scenario yet, guess it would be interesting to find an optimal opening strat! You should try running the scenario where you adjust the tax rate down as low as you can possibly go. That obviously rules out the possibility of any rushbuys or refits, but I'm pretty sure you...

Re: (Bug?)Passive Xenomorph Spitters
The aliens need some work in general. As was pointed out in another thread it doesn't make sense that the queen is first to defend the hive stack, dying and so stopping to spawn more bugs. If you go disturb an ant nest it's the soldier ants coming out to defend, not the queen. If the queen had less ...

Re: Morale question (help)
The key things are to build fewer buildings - i.e. specialise and have fewer, large cities... and to only work high-yield tiles - so have more cities to capture enough special squares, mountains and grassland plains. Basically if you're building factories or laboratories in more than one city in th...

Re: Multiplayer first game. Bug and feedback
Thanks for the games, boulugre! I learned a hard lesson with that range-2 artillery... I think you are correct when you said multiplayer has a lot of potential. It is definitely a wholly different game playing against a human opponent rather than the AI. I really hope to see more people online becau...

Re: Game speed - turn effects
They're supposed to scale according to game speed descriptions so must be a bug.
I have another question about game setup in case a dev looks here: What morale % bonuses does the AI receive at the various difficulty levels?

Re: Growth and population concerns
The whole having-to-rearrange-workers when conquering a city to avoid starvation/mineral shortage is annoying, agreed. I think a more elegant solution than putting an empire-wide malus on a faction when it conquers a city is to centralize the 'problems' on the conquered city only. So, I don't really...

Re: Growth and population concerns
I like your refugee emigration idea. When the game already has a migration system in place it makes sense to use if for conquests, as well. I still think there should be some infrastructure loss and possibly loss of lives, as well, like we know from most other 4x games. I also don't want to see conq...

Re: 1.1 and 1.1.1 feedback and suggestions
- Market: The Market needs to be enabled by a tech and/or by having made contact with the other civilizations. - Field Ops: The Field Training op definitely needs more work and your suggestions are good. - Formers: This is a general problem with the game, not just Formers - you will also have explor...

Growth and population concerns
Hello everybody! I think while the 'locked' growth model is an interesting, radical idea it unfortunately doesn't work in its current form. There are also a number of balance concerns attached to population. Let me just list the problems: 1) Because growth is completely out of your control and will ...

There has been several threads about the manual being... lacking. If you have any specific questions I'm willing to help - I didn't find the game rules hard to pick up.
