Why don't you explain how you solved the transport issue?

Re: Join the ranks! Battle of the Bulge is open for Pc Beta!

This is text from your announcement of the PC beta:

"We have been working hard in making this possible and we are not ready to launch the first beta call for the PC version of the game!"

What can I say, it`s the beta tester in me.

Re: Steel Panthers MBT

Hey Mike, great minds think alike I guess :-) Battle academy does zip right along, and looks good too, but it seems kind of easy to me. Not that I am a great player, and my opinion is based on the demo only. My experience was; you move several units up, bad guy pops up and fires, you shoot 2 or 3 x'...

Re: Steel Panthers MBT

Ugg, please don't remake it in a top down view. If you are going to bring it up to date, how about an isometric view, like the Talonsoft Battleground games. Destructable terrain, the same great editor, but a streamlined combat system to speed things up. One thing I hated about the original was movin...

Re: Korean Campaign

Easier to make WW2 because it actually happened, so the maps, units and stories are there for the taking. Much harder to build a hypothetical campaign. Too bad, it would be cool to try out all those modern weapons and planes. There are a few cold war mode for the Civilization series, but you have to...

Re: New style of campagin

Are you thinking of a skirmish match? That could be something like an add-on, where the map is the same, but you could purchase units before the match. Or maybe even a random battle generator, choose the type of battle and your forces, and be able to reinforce during the match, sounds cool.

Re: Korean Campaign

Unfortunately all anyone is interested in is WW2 ad-nausea. There were several attempts at cold war WW3 games that came to nothing also.

The sonar pulse is an impressive bit of programming, bad news for sneaky subs. Is there a downside for the destroyer to use it?

Re: Update from Beta Testing?

Rich,
Yes there is plenty to keep you busy for a long time, but I`m having trouble going back to it after seeing OoBP screen shots, and the new things they are adding to this game.
I found a few modern war scenarios around but not much, if you have any info on those I would appreciate it...

Re: Artillery..not the god of war!

I would like to weigh in on the positive side of your artillery mechanics also. One of the things I hated about PG2 was attacking the AI, and getting plastered by 2, 3, maybe 4, hidden artillery units. I also like the AT changes, as unless you were totally defensive in PzC they were pretty useless. ...

I remember she had an issue recently and fixed it with the "file history" function I think it was called. It restores settings and files from before things went wrong, might get you back to where you were b4. the deletion error.

Re: Update from Beta Testing?

Wow, what a horror story. Not sure how that happened, one reason I will never get Win 8. Wife has it on her laptop, nothing but problems. They update the program several times a month, I have installed an deleted many times, but I have an old Dell laptop running win XP for those older wargames. Sorr...

Re: Game Mechanics

I like how you are rolling in a lot of different stats to the combat equation, but still keeping things simple to play. Use the right troops for the job (based on their off/def ratings). Rest/rotate your troops when they get battle fatigued. Keep your supply lines open, or eventually pay the price w...

Re: Update from Beta Testing?

To Mark50, You might want to check out Open General while you are waiting for this game to be released. It's a free download and has all the PG2 and other releases, including mods included. While it doesn't compare to OoB : Pacific as far as graphical goodness, a lot of the mods have things that Pan...
