Installing Spartan broke custom messages in GoT

I can't find the thread now, but one of you guys from Slitherine posted that the way to create custom messages was to edit the localisation.txt file, and then run the executables found in the Mod Kit. I had already figured this out for myself, and was pleased to see it confirmed as the "right&q...

Guns don't cause crime. Criminals cause crime. And you're right about the Helvetians. The Helvetic Confederation, (the formal swiss name for Switzerland), uses a variant of the old prussian reserve system, originally devised by Frederick the Great. Indeed, most european countries do. All able-bodied...

I am a follower of more liberal political stances, but I am not a Marxist, hence I do think some degree of taxation is required in order to sustaion a healthy and expanding encomony and society. For instance free healthcare that we have in country (even if we are all contracting MRSA and dieing!) i...

This sounds suspiciously like plagiarism of an old Disney film entitled "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" :)

Oh, I am *not* in favor of any taxation at all.

I'm a Libertarian, or that's the closest common label to what I am.

Sorry if I gave the wrong impression.

Oh, and as far as I know, there are only 2 or 3 states that have no sales tax at all. California's 7.25% is about in the middle.

Request for translation

What on earth do the british mean by the expression "pit ponies" ?

Bugs of some kind?

At first I thought of the lice we call "crabs" or "crotch crickets", but that didn't seem to fit the context.

(Vile, disgusting thought, eh?)

No, the color charts and font charts and such that Visibone sells are related to webdesign. We just got to rambling, as soon happens in any thread in which I participate :) And I agree about Notepad. When I first learned about how to use HTML, there was nothing else. Yes, literally, the first HTML e...

Yes, sir, we do have sales tax. But that's a state-imposed tax, not a tax imposed by the federal (i.e. national) government. Sales tax in my own state of California is only 7.25%, but in some of the corrupt east-coast states, it can go as high as 13% or more. When we buy food at the market, to prepa...

Oh man, that sucks major. Americans would riot in the streets if they tried that here. Actually, I think American politicians have realised that keeping the American people pacified and content is largely a matter of being sure we have access to a wide variety of consumer goods, of reasonable qualit...

Heh, in all that long-winded and rambling digression, I never answered your questions. The mousepad is a typical new-style thin mousepad, i.e. not the old-style thick neoprene. The surface is matte, (non-glossy), and very, very lightly pebbled. Visibone cautions that the mousepad may not be suitable...

I don't use a mousepad, bro. For ergonomic reasons, I use a simple clipboard. I just set it down in my lap, and use the mouse right on the clipboard. Yes, I use an optical mouse. Most people mouse on their desktop, and that's just ergonomically awful. Your arm is up too far to be natural, and your b...

Well, I was born and raised here in San Diego, which has what is officially classed as a Mediterranean climate, and I hated the weather in London. It was awful. How on earth have you managed to adapt, given that most of England has weather even worse than London? Though, to be honest, the weather wa...

I just stumbled across this company purely by accident http://www.visibone.com See, I was designing a scenario for GoT, and I wanted to use custom colors. But my HTML book only listed colors as hex triplets, and GoT uses the 255 RGB values. Also, my HTML book only listed colors by their names, and I...

Huh! And here my one significant complaint with Spartan/GoT is the lack of tactical control! I want to be able to control my units in more detail, and during the course of the battle, not just at the start :) How on earth do you cover one of Hannibal's tactical surprises with the current system? You...
