Re: Field of Diplomacy - Calling Players for an MP game
Interesting again. I was definitely at fault not contacting Macedon early on. The garrison mechanic is useful in certain circumstances but not with multiple enemies moving region to region taking your territory. In one turn I was able to check the Antigonids and defeat totally the field army of the ...

Re: Field of Diplomacy - Calling Players for an MP game
Really interesting discussion guys. Just caught up with it all ! The bottom line is that Macedonia was the difference....the "swing state" for our US readers :D No Macedonia riding shotgun for the Antigonids and that would have been a very different game. I have no doubt that Rome and Cart...

Re: Any Multiplayer Games Open?
Guys, this is just crazy. Now I know why Ptolemaic Egypt was never as expansionist as some of the other successor states: The Egyptian army is just not up to the task :D First case was a naval battle vs. devoncop (Antigonids). Horrendous defeat, but arguably somewhat historical (I think in real his...

Re: Field of Diplomacy - Calling Players for an MP game
For us the war is over.
As the Senate steals away in the night to a life of well deserved obscurity as the remaining Roman garrisons are cut down it seems an Antigonid landslide is secured.....
Macedon has proved that she is happy to lose in the service of her master

The Pictish nation would like to thank the good folk of Judea for their financial contribution, we promise to spend it wisely (or alternatively just have a damn good ceilidh ), this is particularly welcome as the Danes have indicated they are unable to help us for a few more years till they recover...

Re: Losing Battles
When it comes to a battle if I let the AI resolve the battle I keep losing even though my combat power is much greater - easily 50-80% higher. When I resolve the very same battle by exporting it and playing it myself - I easily win. It is tedious. What is going wrong? Multiple issues I suspect........

Re: Field of Diplomacy - Calling Players for an MP game
Interesting developments all round it seems. Rome is truly grateful for the unsolicited help from Carthage and whatever the result it is a noble effort. I am not sure "Operation Troll Devoncop" in describing Antigonid/Macedonian expansionism is the explanation for the map of the known worl...

Re: Arranging MP Game....Interested ?
The Judeans speak of an agreement to allow Judean occupation of Palaestina Province. There was. On turn 20. Not turn 21,22,23 etc. Read the agreement. Not in perpetuity and not when Judea abuses such concessions by attacking Nabatea from that self same Province. The loyalty of the population of Petr...

Re: Arranging MP Game....Interested ?
Seleucid questions over any malevolent motivation for actions would be better addressed to the Judean High Priests, just spotted by scouts of the Egyptian military riding north at high speed on some bedraggled looking camels accompanied only by their looted gold. As the Seleucids are aware, "ab...

Re: Field of Diplomacy - Calling Players for an MP game
:D Well done, my Carthaginian and Roman friends! The Antigonids will be defeated! They will be stopped! And there will be repercussions for them! This blatant disregard of the peace in the Apennine peninsula that has reigned since Roman unification will be answered with an equivalent punishment in d...

Re: Formal Surrender Terms
I have been part of that chorus to improve the diplomatic game. I just see this as a limitation on players choices rather than a new option. It makes something easier for one player if they chose, but harder for another without choice. I think as it is currently both players have a choice to do exa...

Re: Is the decadence mechanism need a bit of tweaking?
I actually build a decent economy with a lot of tiers 3 culture building . And most of the game my culture was superior to decadence. The problem has started when I hit the golden age . In it's current form it is more trouble and punishment then reward . I whish in golden age I could build wonders ...

"Judea is not dead yet, and Ptolemy may yet be surprised at the tricks it has up its sleeve"...
Having dealt with the Judeans since the beginning of the game this is certainly one sentiment I can agree with

Re: Is the decadence mechanism need a bit of tweaking?
Maybe this is a Rome specific issue, but I've been playing a SP game as Epirus and have never had any decadence issues. I'm at about turn 350 and have recently become top of the legacy list and I go from Glorious Empire to Glorious Empire. I've never had a rebellion and I rarely ever get any negati...

Turn 27 : 284BC The House of Cards that made up the Judean nation begins to crumble as Egypt takes the reins off its allies. Nabatea takes Samaria and Gallilea whilst Arabia takes Aelana Region......Egypt, as always less interested in conquest than stability merely occupies the almost abandoned Phil...

Dont get lost in foreign lands when you start an invasion. Use maps. Maps drawn on papyrus. We offer large papyrus for strategic maps, small papyrus for tactical handouts to your subcommanders. Offer of the week: Buy papyrus, get an elephant on top. Special offer of the week for Carthage: Buy eleph...
