Re: What is the best turn based D Day game?

I think this SSG Normandy game was highly regarded at the time.....not sure how it has held up: https://www.matrixgames.com/game/battles-in-normandy But with many of these older games and even some newer ones there isn't going to be a "modern" multiplayer system. If that is something that ...

Re: What is the best turn based D Day game?

At a tactical level SPWaW (a old classic) can be a ton of fun but is not exclusively normandy focused. I assume you want beach landings which sort of makes it challenging.......you often get different scale and focus with other digital games: GG's WiTW is massive and very detailed covers far far mor...

Looks like the Hungarians have some wagon defenses too! From a steam page screenshot: Image

City walls were also visible in the twitch preview the other day too.

Re: 30 Years War team event - state of play

@Athos1660 The Italian Wars Campaign that w_michael ran was very interesting but also showed that things can get pretty complex quickly. That one was starting with ~10 players I think. It managed to go from Spring 1499 - Fall 1501. But with all the phases / mechanics plus, allowing 15 days to resolv...

I know FoGII has steam remote play but I don't think P&S does.

Bronze Age eventually would be a chance to give folks something a wee bit more historically accurate then the strange beast that Total War:Troy is shaping up to be

Re: Neverdark - Dev Diary #1 - What is Neverdark?

What happened to this game? Is Slitherine still publishing it? Is it a dead project? There is still a steam page but Neverdark has gone dark...aka disappeared on the Slitherine/Matrix main sites. The slitherine forum for it appears to be inaccessible too. Yet the steam page still says coming soon an...

Re: A question about DRM

The steam version I believe supports LAN PvP and LAN Coop so whether or not you have the Steamworks DRM version or the DRM-free version it shouldn't effect that as far as I know.

Re: A question about DRM

It is the steam version I believe with this: https://www.humblebundle.com/subscription/may-2020. If you get it from the Slitherine site directly it will definitely include a standalone installer as well as a steam option. Without trying it is hard to say whether the key humble gives you can register...

Re: Happy Easter Sale - 30% off coupon

I do think there is a market for wargames on mobile devices and not just Apple iOS ones. It is just that mobile is much a more limited market for these types of games than for regular desktop gamers with added challenges due to app store content policies and on the Android side so many different han...

Re: Happy Easter Sale - 30% off coupon

As far as I know Slitherine isn't doing anything more in the mobile market at the moment (for a number of reasons...https://www.polygon.com/2018/12/6/18128924/afghanistan-11-taliban-app-store-removed). Unfortunately, this means that my guess, as a fan (not representing Slitherine), is that existing ...

Re: Missed Sale

That sale is over....you snooze you lose as they say. But they have done an easter coupon a few years now so that is probably likely in the future to continue....however, the biggest sale on the Slitherine/Matrix Sites tends to be the Xmas one. There also sometimes is a halloween coupon or sale too....

Re: Multiplayer Support.

I like both. But definitely value the asynchronous nature and flexibility of PBEM++. I also think it helps folks in different time zones that might not ever play one another in a live person to person only MP setup game together (which is awesome from a community perspective IMO). There are certainl...
