Re: Blenheim 1704?

Trouble is, many of the battles are very similar: two great long lines of (admittedly pretty) musket + bayonet armed infantry blasting away at each other, pretty much impervious to cavalry unless they're already fragmented.

Re: Pike & Shot - Battle of Narva - Good work Paula

Cheers, I was a bit wary of trying to design a Narva one, but Paul's done a great job.

Re: Blenheim 1704?

As the field extended for four miles and contained well over 100,000 combatants I'm going for 25 x 50 and either brigades or half-brigades, depending upon their size, and the 64 unit limit. At Phillipe's suggestion I'm massively reducing the saturation in paint.net to lessen the 'toy soldier' effect...

Re: Blenheim 1704?

Thanks, you've clearly more confidence that I have. As I mentioned, and you've confirmed, there's almost tooooooooo much information on this one, different OOBs and a wide variety of uniforms, some interpretation and consolidation will be required, but I've never shied away from making things up, ah...

Re: Blenheim 1704?

Cheers, yes, seen that one, it will be one of my main sources, gives a decent overview, detailed map, OOB...but it's such a well-known battle there's almost too much readily available.

Blenheim 1704?

Hi, thinking of taking a crack at this battle, need to be pretty large and brigade/half-brigade size, terrain, OOBs and uniforms very freely available: just wanted to check and make sure that no one else is already working on (or thinking of working on) it? We've got a couple of duplicates already a...

Re: Post here links to the MP scenarios you have created

Fortunately not: the Mughals did use them but evidently not at Plassey. If they were there (and one does appear in that post-battle picture) it was as baggage and haulage animals, and possibly 'command posts' for senior nobles. But no record of them being used in a shock role. I'm guessing that gunp...

Apologies to opponents - Odenathus

Apologies to those opponents to whom I haven't replied for two weeks: I had a killer PC crash which meant that it had to go in for repair (£220!) and wiped the hard drive completely. I've had to reinstall all my games, including P&S Campaigns, but have lost my running Multiplayer games. I know h...

Re: Medieval Mod ?

My bad, I hadn't realised that arming lighter cavalry with spears (which they carried) would cancel out heavy cavalry's lance bonuses. Won't do it again, there's only one unit in Bosworth so it isn't the end of the world. I'm more concerned about the longbows (Medium Foot, Bow, Swordsmen) charging a...

Re: Medieval Mod ?

Cheers, I'm afraid that Bosworth is a stand-alone scenario only. However I do think this game can reasonably be stretched to include the Late Medieval period. I don't have the skill to change the appearance of the units themselves, but we have already have a range of knights and other cavalry, bows ...

Shortening pikes

This is probably childishly simple, but how do I go about shortening pike lengths on existing units? I want to be able to represent shorter pole weapons such as the English bill, glaives, partisans, etc, but the only units like this in the standard directory are the very small 500 strong halberdier ...

Re: RELEASED! Yari & Teppo (the Pike & Shot Japanese mod)

This is an amazing piece of work, far beyond what anyone else has managed so far. One tiny quibble/question: should not foot samurai be armed as a primary weapon with those famous two-handed swords of theirs, i.e. 'heavy weapons' (not swordsmen) in P&S parlance? You've probably considered that a...

Re: Post here links to the SP scenarios you have created

Many thanks for those impressive new scenarios, very much appreceated! Unfortunately I've got not much time ATM to play the game or create new stuff myself, could just take a quick look at the scenarios in the editor. Odenathus and Warlord156: Everything looks very well done and interesting; I'm am...

Playtest - Mohacs, 1526 AD

Would anyone care to playtest this MP scenario with me - I'll need to send you the scenario as a zip file? It's the battle where the Ottoman Turks beat the Hungarians, so quite open terrain and quite a lot of varied cavalry units. Hungarians well outnumbered in units, but theirs are typically strong...

Too clever for me!

Richard, is there a way of sending you a zip file with my first creation, on which I'd appreciate your comments, or must I have a URL? You've probably gathered that I'm a simple soul.

Re: Right, what's next?

Sure that I'm asking things that have already been answered, but... I've designed a small test multiplayer, loads + plays fine but has led to more questions (i) Reinforcements - I put them on the map, assigned them to Groups, with comments, exported the file, saved the scenario, then deleted the uni...
