Re: Change min angled view?
Thanks much, guys. And Mord, I'll also be installing your FOG2 ancients terrain mod, so thanks for that. I find the FOG-M terrain graphics rather jarring...

Change min angled view?
I picked up this game with my anniversary coupon, woohoo. When I first installed FOG2, there was a setting I could change in a file somewhere to allow me to change the camera angle more than allowed in the original game. I've since reinstalled FOG2, and now FOG2M, so would like to make this fix agai...

Re: Epic battles not as good as DLC campaigns
In my opinion, the main change needed for epic battles is to add a time limit. I played one that went 70 turns before I quit (my opponent wanted to continue playing). Several others have gone on longer than I think is reasonable. All battles should have time limits, I don't understand the rationale ...

Re: Your most turns in a game.
I played 70 turns in an epic battle once; my opponent wanted to keep playing but I said no mas--IIRC he was 5-10 points ahead at that point but both sides had dealt some damage. I forget the name of the battle, but I had a lot of cats, other cav, and archers and my opponent was Roman; my units were ...

Re: What kind of battles in upcoming Crusades DLC?
OK, thanks, although if the Indians are anything like in the ancients game, I'm not playing them either! I'll probably pick this up sooner or later once this DLC comes out, just kind of curious what its all about.

Re: What kind of battles in upcoming Crusades DLC?
Thanks, obviously I'll buy the base game if I get the DLC, but the main reason I haven't bought the base game already is because I'm almost completely unfamiliar with, and uninterested in, the armies/regions in the base game, so I'd probably mainly play the Crusading period, especially if an Empires...

What kind of battles in upcoming Crusades DLC?
I haven't bought FOG2 Medieval yet because I'm generally not interested in, or knowledgeable about, the period. But I've read quite a bit about the Crusades and find it fascinating...so I'd like to get FOG2 once this DLC comes out, but am concerned that I won't actually like playing the battles in F...

Re: 1200 v 1600 pts
Totally depends on the army. With many armies even at 1600 pts there are significant choices to make.

Wow, mod looks great, congrats. I don't have Medieval yet, and am not sure I'll get it (medieval is not my thing), but if I do the first thing I'll do is install your mod.

Re: Please Name Some Books!
I just finished the book by France which I mentioned above--it is very good. Next up for me is The Greatest Knight , about William Marshal: https://www.amazon.com/Greatest-Knight-Remarkable-William-Marshal/dp/0062262068/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=the+greatest+knight&qid=1609566423&sr=8...

Re: I am not a fan of the terrain art
@76mm: Wow I really think the graphics in Pike and Shot are well done! If you didn’t know, you can also play top down view ;) I went to the Matrix store to look at some pike & shot screenshots, but there weren't any...for P&S Campaigns there are a couple, but all of them are zoomed out on t...

Re: I am not a fan of the terrain art
Indeed i love it, considering the engine from Pike and Shot, Sengoku jidai and FOG 2 i love the attention from the developers to "portrait", or well maybe better "to paint" the game to let the player jump inside that age of the game. So in pike and shot i played on a page book f...

Re: I am not a fan of the terrain art
While it's clearly purely a matter of personal taste, I also much prefer the look of the original FOG2 terrain; in fact I think that the FOG2 maps are some of the best wargame maps I've ever used (and the map generator is probably the best). Rather sorry that we'll be taking what is (in my view) a s...

Re: Please Name Some Books!
OK, I'll even start! I just started a book, but it seems pretty good: Western Warfare in the Age of the Crusades: 1000-1300 by John France.
I'm also tempted by the Smails book, but would rather read something interesting about European warfare in the period, rather than Crusades...

Please Name Some Books!
I'm trying to get excited about the release of FOG2 Medieval, but generally this is a period which has held very little interest for me, other than the Crusades. I've read quite a bit about the Crusades, but the little I've read about this period in Europe have failed to generate much interest. And ...

Re: Field of Glory 2: Medieval - Out on February 4th
What's with all the lists ending in 1319? It seems a bit odd that so many apparently unrelated factions end in 1319, especially when the game only goes to 1270!

Re: Damage miscalculation
It sounds like you're talking exclusively about ranged fire (ie, shooting)? Richard will have to speak up for his rationale for this particular issue, but based on my experience on this forum, everything in this game is thought through rather well and Richard will have a very good reason for this de...

Re: Gotta be a bug
It is, however, worth mentioning that all of the Patch Notes since the game was released are in one file - PatchNotes.rtf in the main folder of the build. So at least you don't have to trawl back through forum posts. OK, that is helpful, but even so the number of accumulated changes by now really m...
