Re: Similarity...
Sounds excellent. Seems like it has a Games of Thrones feel with all the grievances etc. As for the combat I'd love you to check out my idea on formation\shape combat I have in mind for a fantasy game. It may spark something of as it's pretty unique but makes sense. I've copied and pasted from a thr...

Re: Upcoming Computer Games Wish List
I didn't myself. I think the only way you might see them is ask Matrix nicely if they can email them to you. Though I doubt they will. Besides you'd just be torturing yourself.

Re: Upcoming Computer Games Wish List
God it sounded good! hough I think giving it two scales a sort of scale within a scale is where I reckon they came unstuck. If they had just kept it at 50m we may have eventually seen it released. I wonder now Slitherine is onboard, Slitherine will look into reviving the project, as there is a big ...

Re: Our Wish Lists
Hmm, I admit Im not too familiar w Steampunk and from what I know I dont think I'd enjoy it too much. What Im getting at is fantasy combat of well organized armies doesnt need to look medieval , ancient or napoleonic in costumes, just utility. I like a "realistic basis" to combat , even i...

Re: Our Wish Lists
Well, Im kinda low key in my requirements for a "fantasy" game... I tend to enjoy more mundane fantasy, where "normal" stuff is the norm but spiced up by the fantasic. So worlds like Martin's Game of Thrones, Howards Hyborea(ie Conan), the HorseClans novels(and of course Fritz L...

Re: Close combat - Panthers in the Fog
@bernnd Whoops sorry mate I see what you mean. I though you were wondering why we were saying the new CCNE (Close Combat New Engine) OR CC3d was going to be top down. Again sorry, I think DS was getting confused.

Re: Upcoming Computer Games Wish List
It looked really good actually. There where some perspective issues in the alpha shots like trams looking way to small (or was it big). However the overall look was really good. The game was going to have medals and promotions and all that. I wish I'd kept those screenshots as for some reason you ca...

Re: Close combat - Panthers in the Fog
bernD he isn't. The new CC game (the one after this one) will be designed as top down 3D. Which is as I said before exactly how I'd have made it. The 3D helps with LOS and makes the while thing with regards to terrain especially more hi fi and less abstract. They said it maybe possible to angle the ...

An Ancients game or how about a fantasy game.

Re: Close combat - Panthers in the Fog
DS it will be using a 3D engine which helps with LOS and terrain features. SO in effect it is 3D but top down. Maybe they should just say top down 3D, as it will be neither 2D nor how someone is going to imagine a 3D game will look like. I do hop to god they stick with their current plan to keep it ...

Our Wish Lists
OK. As it was mentioned it was still early in development and they where listening to us and what we'd like to see and what where not keen on I'd though I'd make this thread. So if everyone writes down their list of things they like to see and things they would then maybe it might influence some par...

Re: Similarity...
It strikes me it's very early in development. So maybe things are changing all the time. Hopefully the more we tell them what we'd like the more likely it may happen.

Re: Close combat - Panthers in the Fog
Manoi they have stated no roving rotating adjustable camera, it will be designed in a 3D engine but top down which is the best way I think for CC. Most likely zoom in or zoom out. Not one game in 3D has played well top down cos it wasn't designed that way. This way we keep the CC feel and see all th...

Re: Close combat - Panthers in the Fog
Von Ryan I'm not really talking about detail per se but about how much of the map you see on the screen at any one time without having to scroll around. Many 3D games just don't work from top down view due to them obviously being made to play in the no top down view (can't think of a better term). W...

Re: Close combat - Panthers in the Fog
Steve, again I have total trust in you and the team which is something I can't say about many game developments. I know your all hardcore CC fans, more so than most so it's in good hands. I expect all our worries are yours too and you've already thought about all these possible issues. Finally if I ...

Re: Close combat - Panthers in the Fog
DSWargamer exactly, you mentioned the amount of units, thats my worry with PITF, more units more stress.
I hope the don't pile on the amount of units in the new engine game either. Keep it manageable.

Re: Upcoming Computer Games Wish List
+1 to both of you. Make a new Steel Panthers. Though I can't ever see it happening. For starters Matrix was on the road at one time with Combat Leader only it got scrapped. The biggest disappointed so far from matrix for me was the day that happened.

Re: Battle Cards
I hope it's not the Might and Magic combat and like Is aid it seems strange for Lordz to direct us to M&M when it was asked what battle cards are. Fingers crossed it's more wargame like than card game like. Edit: Just read Lordz post. Sounds good. If you had hero cards etc that would be great, t...
