Re: Duplex's Scenarios and Campaigns

Just wanted to say hi to everybody again. I haven't been around for quite a while, but I'm glad to be back. :D Little status update, timetable, and teaser now that I'm back: After replaying Endsieg and studying official and custom scenarios from others, I've been starting on a new campaign (Civil Wa...

Re: Thinking of New Campaign, Some Questions Though

Thanks for all the advice. I guess I'm sticking to making a campaign then.

Time to get working!

Re: Thinking of New Campaign, Some Questions Though

Wow thanks for all the pointers Bru. That's a lot of info. I will try my luck at getting the AI to conduct deep offensives, and if it proves to be too unfeasible...well I might just end up changing my scenarios to multiplayer (and thus it would also no longer be a campaign). I'm hesitant to do that ...

Thinking of New Campaign, Some Questions Though

I'm looking to start on creating a new custom campaign, not sure if I'll have the commitment to finish it though. We'll see. I do have some questions for others though. How do you do your research for these scenarios? What do you consult to find troop deployments etc.? What do you use for terr...

Re: Using Official Content

Duplex, if you want a quick answer, write a PM to Shards or somebody at Slitherine. That's what I did before publishing my mod here. And FYI, many of the OoB "binary" files are just renamed ZIP files. Like savegames, replays and scenario (.scz) files. And the "offical" ones have...

Re: Using Official Content

Duplex, if I am right about that embedded code thing, realize that you can use a DLC map for your custom work if you own the DLC and you are keeping your work private . I don't know if I was clear on that. It's only if you wanted to publish it for other forum members that you may find some folks wh...

Re: Using Official Content

Hm, I hope someone official can give a definitive answer. I'm only asking because I find map creation tedious and somewhat unenjoyable, as opposed to the other parts of custom scenario creation, and it would be cool if I could use the nice maps in official DLC. But it's also perfectly understandable...

Using Official Content

Is there any sort of rule against using official content to make custom content?
For example, if I want to use official maps from paid DLC to create custom scenarios on top of, is that allowed? What is the line between a custom scenario and stolen content?

Re: Play OOB custom multiplayer scenario

Hi, I created a custom scenario for multiplayers in the OOB editor, and put it online. Hosting was successful. When someone wants to click/join it so he can play against me, he cannot join. I protected it with a password, but he never gets asked to put it in. Does every player have to have the scen...

Re: Duplex's Scenarios

v1.2.2 for Shanghai Battle (Multiplayer 1v1) is here! Features tons of changes to make the scenario more enjoyable, and balanced! - Changed Primary Objectives for both sides (Shanghai is now an attack/defend scenario) - Added a secondary objective for both sides (to incentivize early fighting in the...

Re: Duplex's Scenarios

It's a pity there's no real "scenario trigger" manual out there. Specifically how to constuct working trigger combinations for objectives. I mean, this is one the "usual-type" objectives (like destroy all units, do X amount of damage, kill X units, take X towns, finish before tu...

Re: Duplex's Scenarios

Update v1.1.2 for Iwo Jima: Graphic bugs ? Hm...I haven't seen those before. I think the revealed hexes are from the deploy hexes that are available after the deployment phase, but I'm not sure what that darkened hex would be. Maybe I will keep the shallow water though, I don't think that matters t...

Re: Event Images

It seems all of my event images are coming out as white boxes. I don't think it's the images themselves, as I've tested it with other pictures from other campaigns, still white screen. Not entirely sure what I'm doing wrong, but I'm doing it. Usually, this means OOB is not finding your images. Did ...

Re: Duplex's Scenarios

Update v1.1.2 for Iwo Jima: - Briefing has a little more clarification - Shifted some Japanese supply - (potentially?) fixed the clear resistance objective I changed the kind of unit it detects from "Alive" to "Deployed". I'm not quite sure what the distinction is between the two...

Re: Duplex's Scenarios

Duplex returns with Iwo Jima v1.0.0! (1945) Thanks! Nice one. Good action, played very well without any real problems. I just love having those B-29 Flying SuperFortresses in my core... 8) :D Although I have to say I was a bit surprised of the hefty air resistance from the Japs after I was told to ...

Re: Duplex's Scenarios

Duplex returns with Iwo Jima v1.0.0! (1945) Fight as the Americans over a small but vital island. Featuring mountain batteries and brutal hand-to-hand combat, the scenario stays intense all throughout! It's been nice getting back into OOB, I now remember why I loved this game so much. :D  All ...
